The international Jot/Olve tournament brought some valuable insights.

For many players, it was a real moment of reflection and a new (international) benchmark.
It sparked conversations about training load and the difference between quality and quantity.

We’re really looking forward to the coming weeks and are curious to see how this renewed self awareness will influence the choices players make.

And when that intrinsic motivation is there to truly go for it, we’ll be there to guide them.

📶 Progress on court isn’t random. It’s built stroke by stroke, decision by decision

➡️ Right now, we’re working on exercises where both sides are active, each with their own tasks and focus points.

🎯 The focus today: return of short service on the odd side. What options do you have? Which shots can follow? And yes… sometimes there’s a less obvious shot thrown in. It’s fun, it surprises you, and it stealthily develops technique. 😏

The exercises grow more complex week by week, challenging both decision-making and ex*****on.

💡 Step by step:
1️⃣ Understand the options and their outcomes.
2️⃣ Execute with clean technique.
3️⃣ Link shots and movement into fluid combinations.

✅ When that foundation is solid, we can push tempo, creativity, and intensity, without sacrificing technique or consistency.

📶 Progress in badminton isn’t random. It’s built step by step. 🏸

➡️ Right now with Byrthe Eefje is focusing on the connection between footwork, shot selection and ex*****on.

🎯 The goal is simple: make the right decision, move efficiently, and execute the shot with quality. That requires anticipation and the ability to adapt to every situation on court.

But it always starts with the basics.

1️⃣: clean technical ex*****on of every shot.
2️⃣: adding the correct movement.
3️⃣: linking shots together into combinations.

✅ When those boxes are checked, we move on to running one-shuttle exercises, gradually increasing the tempo ⤴️ — but never at the cost of consistency or technical quality.

When the foundation is strong, we can keep pushing the speed and intensity.🔥

🧠🏸 Doubles is all about working together, reading the game and thinking ahead

On behalf of BadSlice, Eefje delivered a coach education session for in Dendermonde yesterday. The session was focused on doubles play, with an emphasis on tactics and anticipation. Learning together how to read what’s happening on court and how to respond smarter as a pair.

Through plenty of practical exercises, real match examples, and attention to technique and strokes, players and coaches of all ages got actively involved — from youth players to seniors.

There was also a strong focus on keeping young players engaged and on how to explain tactical decisions in a clear, fun and age-appropriate way. This is a challenge where the professional experience of Eefje plays a vital role.
