A classic start of the day. ☀️
First some action, then a quiet moment of reflection and relextation at Frommes alp.

Best enjoyed with a small glass of Poire Williams, Apfelstrudel with homemade vanilla sauce,
and to finish it properly a warm cup of chocolate.

Some traditions are worth keeping. ☕️

Two eras, one mountain ⛰️

Vintage skiing meets modern lines.
Different tools same respect for the mountain.
I share these moments to keep history moving not frozen in time. If this speaks to you, follow the journey.

A small glass of Williams to warm the inside,
getting ready for a demanding descent.
Calm before the drop. ❄️⛷️🥃. It is -12.

High speed on vintage skis ⛷️.
Wind noise only no music needed 💨.

Old wooden skis modern speed
History under my feet and someone getting passed on the way down.

It looks easy but it isn’t.
This is what Climbing Vintage is about, screw it let’s do it. 👊🏼

A piece of history on my table 📚 I like to share with you. It took me quite a while to trace all the books.
These books belonged to one of the great Dutch explorers of the early 20th century Ph.C. Visser. Together with his wife Jenny, he ventured deep into the Karakoram, Himalaya and beyond, documenting landscapes and cultures long before mass tourism ever touched them.

Holding these books today feels like holding a direct link to that golden age of exploration. From “Above and Below the Snowline” (1910) to “Along the Northern Flanks of the Karakoram” (1936), every page breathes the spirit discovery.

For me, retracing some of his footsteps in the mountains is not just adventure it’s honoring a legacy. On September 5th I’ll continue that journey in the Himalaya, inspired by Visser and his incredible drive to explore the unknown.

Would you carry books like these into the mountains as your guide? ✨
