The Porsche 911 (992) GT3 RS.
This is my LEGO rendition of what is probably one of the most requested cars I’ve ever built. So many of you asked for it that I decided to make it this year’s community design, the one model each year that you get to choose.
This project was both challenging and incredibly fun. I started the first prototype in red, but after the community vote, white came out on top. In the end, I couldn’t choose, so I built both.
It’s been a long time since I’ve been this excited about one of my own models. Everything just came together. I went with a 15-stud-wide front and a 16-stud-wide rear to capture the real car’s proportions as closely as possible. It wasn’t an easy shape to get right since the sides look deceptively straight, but I’m really happy with how it turned out. It might even be my best design so far.
The model is built from 1,267 genuine LEGO parts, combined with a few of my own engineered custom parts, including the wheels, to add even more realism.
If you look closely, you’ll notice the stickers on the white version are slightly too bright. That will be corrected before release. There’s also one small mistake hidden in the sticker sheet. Can you spot it? 🤔
A huge thank you to everyone who pre-ordered this design. The support, enthusiasm, and trust you continue to show means more than you know.
The model releases on the 24th and, unlike previous releases, it will remain available permanently. I’m also working on an optional wheel pack, as shown in the last slide.
I hope you enjoy this one as much as I enjoyed designing it. ❤️
Showing you my Lego car collection.
I’ve got a lot of questions about showing all my cars. Especially when I went live a couple times last week. So I’m starting off with the Koenigsegg’s. Showing you the features and some functions. I hope you like it, if you wanna see more, leave a like and a comment ;)
Day 6 of designing the 911 GT3RS in Lego!
This is my take on the legendary 911 GT3RS. 1300 pieces, steering, functions, stickers, the works!
Why?
This is my second community design. While I do mostly only commissions, once a year I want to give back to this awesome community. Last year it was the Tourbillon, this year the 911 GT3RS (992) got the most votes.
The journey
I started it in stud.io and I tried to do an angled hood with the 1x10 curved slopes. It was a bit flimsily at an angle but I did get the shape how I wanted, to reinforce and close a small gap at the front I decided a custom part was best. This also created a strong structure. Then worked all the way to the back. The videos don’t really show the hours into the roof but I believe I changed it like 9 times….
Personal opinion
I think this is my best Moc this year, especially the rear. You gotta really build it to see it but the way the steering module connects and the jumping of the bodywork from 15 to 14 to 16 studs wide feels like it shouldn’t work this good but it does?! That makes that side bodywork flow really well. I enjoyed it soo much that I eventually will also make the red version with the stickers for some cool photos later.
Shoutout
Took a lot of inspiration from and the legend
Also big thanks to and That helped me to realize the stickers.
What’s next?
On this model I have to fix the white balance and I’m waiting on the instructions to be tested. I think the release will be in 2 weeks. Hopefully I can do the final photoshoot soon as well I’m excited. After that who knows what the next design will be 🤔
