I see this in every company meeting I walk into. People sit still and their bodies are working overtime. The jaw, the shoulders, the breath that goes shallow the second someone says your name.

Most people think that is just how they are wired. It usually is not. It is a body that has been on for years and never got told it could stand down.

Which one did you recognise in yourself?

Today i am training a team of directors in open and non violent communication, stress reduction and well-being in the Tibetan monestary in Huy. Next to training in hard skills we are combining it with soft skills like slow yoga, mindfulness, silent walking in nature and meditation.

I had ten free minutes the other day.

No phone, no task, nothing. It felt uncomfortable, like sitting still wasn't allowed.

I notice it between meetings too, that small gap gets filled with a message or a task within seconds.

Rest has started to feel like falling behind, instead of something that's just allowed to be there.

You fill every quiet moment.

A podcast in the car. A show while you eat. Your phone the second there's nothing to do.

Not because you're busy. Because silence brings things up, and it's easier to just not let it.

But everything you've been avoiding is still there. Silence doesn't create it. It just stops covering it up.

The moment you actually sit still, without anything to distract you, you find out what you've really been carrying.

That's uncomfortable at first. Then it's the most honest thing you'll do all week.

That's the whole point of the October weekend. Real silence, real space, nothing to hide behind.

Beautiful Sunset tonight. Did you noticed it?

Happy spirit festival op Hodenpijl in Schipluiden is a big succes. I was invited by the director of the festival Carla Begeer to do the opening in the beautiful church and after that a workshop. I was asked to do a mix of classic meditation on the theme togetherness and a part of my interactive theatershow: what is Happiness for you? I invited my friends on the podium Binkie and Marietta.

Most people don't fail at healing because they don't understand it.

They fail because understanding and feeling are two different things.

Obstacle one: knowing exactly what's wrong, but your body still reacts the same old way anyway.

Obstacle two: avoiding the feeling itself, because some part of you learned that feeling it wasn't safe.

Obstacle three: trying to do it alone. Reading, journaling, thinking it through, on repeat, with no one to actually guide the process.

None of these mean something is wrong with you.

They mean you're doing it the hard way.

This is exactly what I help people work through, one on one.
