💧 High-Quality Drinking Water for the Future
We’re proud to be part of the major upgrade at Alderney Water Treatment Works, where Bournemouth Water is investing in future-ready infrastructure to improve water quality and resilience for its customers.
The project includes the installation of PWNT’s CeraMac® C37 system, featuring our ozone-compatible ceramic membrane filtration technology.
Enabled by the close collaboration between PWNT and RSE, the modular design combines advanced technology with a sustainable Design for Modular Assembly (DfMA) approach. It helped streamline the installation process, reduce site disruption, and accelerate delivery, while maintaining the flexibility to scale capacity in the future.
This innovative solution supports:
✅ Enhanced water quality
✅ Improved operational resilience
✅ Sustainable, low-waste treatment performance
👏 Congratulations to Bournemouth Water / South West Water, RSE, Nijhuis Saur Industries UK and Ireland and all other project partners involved in this ambitious transformation.

Join PWNT and Metawater Co Ltd at our Product Showcase at the Singapore International Water Week (SIWW) on 24 June 2021, 14:30 - 15:30 Singapore time.
Invest in Future-proof and proven water treatment innovations : PWNT will present our core technologies offering sustainability, long-term reliability and low life-cycle costs whilst our partner METAWATER shall share more about its robust and reliable microfiltration ceramic membranes.
CeraMac® : Cost-effective ceramic membrane design
CeraMac® is an innovative and cost-effective ceramic membrane filtration process designed by PWNT. This design allows the economically feasible use of ceramic membranes on surface water for large-scale applications, as well as in reuse and desalination pre-treatment applications.
SIX® : Suspended Ion Exchange for organics removal
SIX® is a suspended ion exchange process, suitable for treating surface waters to remove dissolved organics. The system uses an efficient resin contacting, separation and regeneration system, with brine used up to five times which helps reduce waste streams
ILCA® : In-line coagulation and adsorption
PWNT’s In-Line Coagulation and Adsorption (ILCA®) process was developed to minimise coagulation/flocculation footprint and to simplify pret-reatment upstream of CeraMac®. For most surface waters, coagulated feed water lowers the ceramic membrane fouling rate, but strong, large, setting flocs are not required for filtration with ceramic microfiltration. ILCA® was developed to provide only the necessary mixing at a short contact time for the CeraMac® system.
METAWATER Ceramic Membranes
METAWATER presents its ceramic membrane filtration system, a water treatment system that generates clean and clear water by removing impurities (bacteria and protozoa such as Cryptosporidium) and turbidity from raw water with a long service life.
