Amsterdam Student Rugby Club ASCRUM is looking for a new Development Coach / 2XV Coach. ASCRUM is one of The Netherlands’ oldest student clubs, with 3 senior teams, a veteran’s team and over 60 active players. Our 2nd team competes in the third division with a clear ambition to promote to the second division.

Primary tasks will include coaching on match days (Sundays), with Thursday evening training sessions being highly desirable. We pride ourselves on being a unified club — training sessions are often run jointly across teams, with a shared game plan implemented at every level.

Amsterdam student rugby club Ascrum is looking for a new director of rugby/head coach. Ascrum is one of The Netherlands’ oldest student clubs, with 3 senior teams, a veteran’s team and over 60 active players. Ascrum’s 1st team just promoted to the highest national division, with Ascrum’s 2nd and 3rd team playing in the third and fourth divisions, respectively.

Primary tasks will include training on Tuesday and Thursday and coaching on gamedays. Important to note is that while the main focus would be on the 1st team, we are looking for someone who is willing to take on a club-wide responsibility in creating a game plan and structure that can be implemented across all teams, working coherently with additional training and support staff. We aim to uphold a broad and dynamic selection in which there is room for maneuverability between teams depending on individual progression and squad requirements.

Na twee prachtige en succesvolle seizoenen nemen wij als ASRV Ascrum afscheid van onze coaches Michiel Snijders en Barro Kessler.

In deze periode hebben zij een enorme bijdrage geleverd aan de ontwikkeling van het team en de vereniging. Het absolute hoogtepunt was het kampioenschap, behaald met een ongeslagen status én alle bonuspunten – een prestatie waar de hele vereniging met trots op terugkijkt. Onder hun leiding is er niet alleen sportief succes geboekt, maar is er ook gebouwd aan teamgeest, structuur en een sterke basis voor de toekomst. Michiel en Barro blijven ASCRUM coachen tot en met de promotiewedstrijd naar de Ereklasse.

Michiel en Barro hebben aangegeven dat het moment is gekomen om een nieuwe weg in te slaan, met meer tijd en ruimte voor andere belangrijke zaken in het leven. Vanuit hun eigen hoge standaarden vinden zij dat de vereniging coaches verdient die zich met volledige energie en toewijding kunnen blijven inzetten. Wij hebben groot respect voor deze eerlijke en professionele keuze.

Hoewel hun rol als coaches stopt, blijft de band met Ascrum bestaan. Wij zijn dankbaar dat zij hebben uitgesproken de vereniging te blijven steunen waar mogelijk en Ascrum een warm hart toe te dragen.

Namens de hele vereniging willen wij Michiel en Barro hartelijk bedanken voor hun inzet, toewijding en de mooie jaren samen. Hun bijdrage aan Ascrum zal nog lang voelbaar blijven binnen de club. Samen hebben we historie geschreven.

Wij wensen hen alle succes in hun volgende stappen en hopen hen nog vaak langs de lijn te zien.
