David, the founder and pedagogical director of MMCC will be sharing with us some unique stories, insights, and experiences, accompanied with videos and photos of how Social Circus is introduced, promoted, and more importantly expanded and sustained. Also how Social Circus radically transforms children and heals traumas and develops personal and social skills. He will also be presenting MMCC´s pedagogy of working with the children and the youth in the extreme conditions and outlines some of the most important elements of its expansion, networking, financing and promoting it in such difficult and radically different circumstances.

In 2002, he founded the Mobile Mini Circus for Children (MMCC) in Afghanistan, dedicating his life to giving young Afghans an opportunity they’ve never had before: to explore their creative potential through a convergence of mind and body. Since then MMCC has been developed by creating a unique pedagogy and infrastructure for supporting children of war and is expanding in different countries.

MMCC Global is a leading Social Circus organization fostering freedom of expression and creative thought through physical arts. It is “the impossible being possible education,” David says, a way of learning that heals traumas and promotes growth and social identity in countries beset by war and in harsh conditions. MMCC’s workshops and arts have benefited millions of people, alone their educational performances have had over 4 million live audiences.
