Amsterdam Outrigger Canoe Team

We had quite an eventful weekend.

The club is growing, and so many things happened for the very first time:

1. Three sessions, three different crews.
The weekend was full of paddling, and I’m starting to get to know more and more faces.

2. New paddlers! I had the pleasure of introducing Bohdana and Victoria 🇺🇦 to the world of outrigger. Seems they enjoyed the experience.

3. A 1st farewell paddle. 💔
Sadly, we had to say goodbye to one of my most enthusiastic paddlers, Mariana, who is heading back to Brazil 🇧🇷. That’s life, time flies, but the memories stay.

4. Zsofia – a friend visited.
We hosted a friend from a club we used to paddle with in a previous chapter of our lives. It was lovely to have familiar company on board again.

5. Dmytro finally escaped seat number 6! 😄 Not for too long.

6. The sound of the rowing world. 🚣
We could hear the crowds at the World Rowing Championships from the water. What an atmosphere! And those rowers… incredibly fast and incredibly strong. Very inspiring.

7. I discovered the Amsterdam canals!
We entered the canals through the Nieuwe Meersluis, chased a few boat wakes, and eventually made it all the way to the Amstel. What an adventure!

8. Spontaneous races!
We even had a few spontaneous races with the gig rowers – what a strong guys!

9. Dutch weather. 🌧️💨
And, of course, we couldn't call ourselves a proper Amsterdam paddling club without getting thoroughly tested by Dutch rain and wind. We paddled right through it.
