On Thursday 27 August 2026 the ‘Garden Of Earthly Delights’ welcomes you to explore with us the newfound Post-Proto-Cinema!

Post-Proto-Cinema is a term coined by the initator of this event, the meaning is to be determined...

“I based it on the idea of Pre- or Proto-Cinema, which entails experiments in art that are anticipating cinema (film) in some way. Cinema can be seen as a bundle of artistic forms (theatre, photography, music, painting...). I see Proto-Cinema as combining these elements in the search of this bundle, or something alike. But now, in 2026, that we have Cinema, if we rip it apart again and experiment further, we have Post-(Cinema-)Proto-Cinema.”

New/just uploaded:

Six soundworks created with software that was developed by Floris van Rijswijk.
‘Collage maker’ is the name of the software, which describes what the software does with the sounds that are given to it.

All sounds where recorded in the city of Arnhem by participants of Meet-Up nr. 24, on 12 september 2025 in ‘De Stadskeuken’.

With cards that suggested both directions and ideas for recordings, participants of the Meet-Up could create their own soundwalk through the city.

The sound recordings where gathered and presented as sound collage installation in the central space of ‘De Stadskeuken’.

On Sunday 14 June there will be a public rehearsel of the gamelan ensemble ‘Kusuma Budaya’ at the Museum Bronbeek, Arnhem.
