🇹🇿 New Arrival: Acacia Hills Geisha
We are happy to welcome a new competition coffee from Tanzania to our collection.
Produced by Leon and Aideen Christianakis at Acacia Hills Coffee Estate in Oldeani, Karatu, this washed Geisha is grown at elevations of 1,750–1,950 masl and showcases the extraordinary potential of Tanzanian specialty coffee.
Expect a vibrant cup with notes of cloudberry, chamomile, and cane sugar. Juicy sweetness meets delicate florals and subtle berry characteristics, creating an elegant and memorable coffee experience.
☕️ Filter or espresso?
This coffee shines beautifully through both brew methods. Which one will you choose?

✨ Meet the Team: Jim ✨
is a key part of our production team. When he’s on shift, we know every order will be packed with speed and precision. To be honest, none of us can quite keep up with his pace! 📦⚡
Recently, Jim joined our internal Roasters Training Bootcamp and has been making great progress. We’re excited to see where this journey takes him. ☕🔥
When he’s not at MCR, Jim plays guitar in , performing gigs across Europe. He’s also a talented contemporary artist, creating incredible paintings in his spare time. 🎸🎨
We’re proud to have Jim on Team MCR! 🙌
P.S. We’d add Smudged’s music to this post, but Meta won’t let us. Go give them a listen instead! 🎸🎶

Today, we want to highlight one of the coffees that has remained a part of our lineup for years — Brooklyn ☕️
Brooklyn is an espresso blend originally inspired by the world of coffee competitions. Our goal was to bring the elegant and expressive character of high-quality Panamanian Geisha beyond the competition stage and into everyday cups — while keeping it approachable and affordable.
To achieve this, we combined coffees from two of our long-time partners: Finca Santa Teresa in Panama and Inacio Soares in Brazil.
The result is a beautifully balanced espresso with notes of candied orange, praline, and white flowers.
First introduced in 2021, Brooklyn has since become a favorite among many of our customers.

Today, we want to remind you of one of our long-time bestsellers — Sweet Valley 🍎🌺
An incredibly fruity and sweet coffee that has been winning hearts for years. If you somehow still haven’t tried it, this is your sign.
Sweet Valley is a naturally processed Colombian varietal from the legendary Potosi farm at Cafe Granja La Esperanza.
This varietal is a hybrid of Caturra and Hybrido de Timor, developed by Cenicafé, the Colombian National Coffee Research Centre, to combine disease resistance with improved cup quality. While many farms later transitioned to Castillo, this Colombian varietal still stands out with its expressive and juicy profile.
After harvest, the cherries underwent 15 hours of controlled fermentation before spending 72 hours in a dehumidifier until fully dried.
Expect notes of candy apple, plum, hibiscus, and the unmistakable juicy Sweet Valley profile.

Meet the founder, Esther !✨☕️
From the very beginning of the idea for Manhattan Coffee Roasters to this day, Esther has been the team’s visionary leader.
With over 20 years in the coffee business, including competing in and winning multiple competitions, she is familiar with every role at the roastery. She can handle anything from speaking with clients or brewing coffee at the festival to roasting and shipping orders. Of course, her role is more focused on strategic planning and raising her little son these days, but she is always excited to answer a couple of support emails or speak with DHL 😉
