On Sunday June 28th we’re opening our doors for a special Ladies Only Open Mat at Elevation Jiu Jitsu in Utrecht.

Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced competitor, you’re more than welcome to join us for a fun afternoon of training, rolling and connecting with women from other teams.

What a month for our youth competition team. 

Over the past month we competed at both the Lion Cup and the Nijmegen Open, bringing home an incredible 48 medals and 3 team trophies.

To put that into perspective: 48 medals in just two tournaments. An unbelievable achievement by our athletes, coaches and parents.

A special mention goes to Dakota (14), who not only competed in the youth divisions, but also stepped up into the adult division. She submitted every adult opponent she faced, finishing all of her matches in under a minute and taking home gold. An incredible performance.

Our adults have also been representing Elevation this month. Competitors stepped onto the mats at both Versus and Grapple City, where Milan secured an impressive silver medal with two submission victories.

With that, the youth competition season comes to an end. We won’t be competing again until after the summer break.

Now it’s time to get back to work. Time to sharpen our skills, improve our weaknesses and make sure that next season we are even more dominant on both the national and international stage.

A busy month on the competition mats.

IBJJF London Open – Feb 21/22
We competed with both our youth team and adults.

For our youth team, this was the first international tournament, and they showed up strong:
8 athletes – 7 medals

Our adults took it even further:
4 athletes – 9 medals

Highlights:
• Coach Luuk – 4x Gold (Heavyweight Gi / Open Gi / Heavyweight No-Gi / Open No-Gi) with a 100% submission rate
• Sijun – 2x Gold in his first tournament ever, winning both his division and the No-Gi open class, also with a 100% submission rate
• Coach Boris – 1x Gold, 1x Silver in his return to competition
• Milan – Bronze in his first Blue Belt tournament, in a tough division

Versus Future League – March 22
Yesterday we travelled to Eindhoven with our youth team.

12 athletes – 17 medals
Almost 90 matches in total.

We came home with a strong 2nd place as a team, just missing out on 1st.

Nice moment of the day:
Dakota finally competed in the No-Gi boys division, something she had been asking for for a long time. She won all her matches, submitting almost every opponent.

Back to work

Het Elevation Youth Program blijft groeien.

Met inmiddels 12 jeugdlessen per week en bijna 200 jeugdleden hebben we het grootste aanbod aan jeugd BJJ-lessen van Nederland.

En we breiden verder uit.
Er zijn 3 nieuwe lessen toegevoegd aan het jeugdrooster:
• Juveniles No-Gi lessen (14–17 jaar)
• Een extra Mini les op woensdagmiddag (3–5 jaar)

Zo creëren we voor elke leeftijd en elk niveau een passende trainingsomgeving.
Van de allerkleinsten tot competitieve jeugd en de doorstroom richting volwassenen.

Structuur. Discipline . Ontwikkeling.
Dat is waar het Elevation Youth Program voor staat.

What a month it’s been for our Elevation youth team!
In the past month, we competed at Lion Cub and Versus the Future League, bringing home an incredible 37 medals and two team trophies!!

Super proud of every single one of our kids, the effort, the discipline, and the heart they show on the mats are inspiring every time.

Now it’s back to work as we prepare for the next Versus the Future League and, of course, the big goal ahead: the European Championship 2026 in Rome 🇮🇹

European Champion 🥇

What a day here in Rome. I’m incredibly proud to bring home the gold in the Brown Belt M2 division.

First and foremost, I want to thank my wife. She’s the one who keeps everything running behind the scenes while staying home with our three kids. From preparing my meals to making sure my gear is ready, she makes it possible for me to focus and give everything on the mat. None of this would be possible without her love and support.

A huge thank you to my team and coaches for pushing me every day and helping me prepare for this moment.
Luuk, Sven, Ismail, Adam, Hassan (🎤), Juggy, Bart, Dave, Professor Bas van Duin, Markos, and everyone who joined our Euros Training Camp, I appreciate every single one of you.

Elevation Jiu Jitsu is not just a gym, it’s a family.

At Elevation Jiu Jitsu, we’re proud to train over 150 kids every week in an environment that builds character, confidence, and discipline. Our goal is not just to teach Jiu Jitsu, but to help kids grow both on and off the mat.

It’s not about the medals we win at tournaments. It’s about the small victories, like doing ten push-ups today when last month you could only do nine.

Every child’s journey is different. Every kid has their own challenges and milestones. What matters most is progress, one step, one roll, one small victory at a time.
