Ukaleq Slettemark is an Olympic biathlete from Greenland and an NP ambassador. And equally important: she uses her platform to actively root for nature and her homeland. Maybe that's why she reminds us of something pretty simple: that everything we make, buy and use comes at a cost.
She set herself a challenge: how far would she have to ski to cover the distance that equals all the water a single average t-shirt needs to exist?
The result? Watch the film. But here's the conclusion: buy clothes by all means - just make sure they're clothes you love and wear again and again and again.

Buy less. Play more. Designed in Norway. Made by skilled Europeans. It all started with two sweaty friends and a YouTube sewing tutorial.
The clothes we had weren't smart enough, so we made our own that were better for playing in the Norwegian playground. All of a sudden we had a company. What started out with creating functional clothes has turned into a bigger goal. Now, our goal is to help you decrease your clothing consumption. We do this by challenging the entire textile industry's business model. While "everyone" else is tryin
Gard is a firefighter and a fly fisherman, and he's angry. One day he'll die, and there are a couple of things he'll take to the grave with him - but one thing he won't.
In this film, there's little doubt about what he thinks of disposable grills.
At the risk of feeling like we're capitalising on Gard's wishes for the grave, you can find The Grandpa Longsleeve here: https://www.northernplayground.no/nb/shop/the-grandpa-gen-2?fit=men&color=Cefecdc

Two new shirts. Both 100% natural. Fabric, buttons, thread. Nothing synthetic, nothing unnecessary.
The Cotton Linen Shirt has buttons all the way down and a mandarin collar. Men get a chest pocket, women get side slits at the hem. Classic enough for work, relaxed enough that you won't regret it when the day takes a turn.
The Cotton Linen Grandpa is a pullover with roots in Norwegian farming. Long opening at the front, but not all the way down. No pockets, but a side slit. It's not afraid of hard work - but looks just as good when you're not doing any. Worth mentioning: this one is unisex. Women: size down one.
Both are 80% cotton, 20% linen. Enough linen to make the fabric stronger and give it a bit of character. Little enough that you won't need to pack an iron. 😌
Works with shorts in July and under a sweater in September. That's the whole point. 🫡
And of course: Both come with one free repair 💪

As a tourist in Oslo, you have choices. Head to Karl Johan and you can expect selfie sticks, souvenirs, and people following the person in front of them. But go where the current doesn't flow, and you'll end up at Grünerløkka, where the vibe is the exact opposite.
Here you'll find small shops and charming street life. You'll also find Idunn, Kasia, Johan and Axel in our store this summer. They're enthusiastic, friendly, and know a thing or two about clothes that last. Store manager Adrian and repair specialist Mina are on well-deserved summer holidays, so you won't be seeing them 😉
Sun and warm weather? We've got ice cream from Oslo and soft drinks from Oslo. We're fans of local treats. Not generic multinational-corporation p**s. (Was that unnecessarily harsh?)
Either way: we're keeping the store open all of July, Sundays included. The address is Korsgata 24, but the entrance is from Markveien.
Opening hours:
Weekdays 11-18
Saturdays 11-18
Sundays 12-17
Happy summer to everyone ☀️ Hope to see you at Løkka!

We're sorry. This post is about summer and wool clothing.
Or rather, sorry if this is the 17th post you've seen about how amazing wool is in summer.
This time of year, everyone who sells wool sends out content about how amazing wool is in summer.
And honestly, it's a little annoying.
The problem is that it's true.
All the clichés are true.
That your T-shirt still smells perfectly fine after several days on the trail? True.
That it feels cool and comfortable when the sun is blazing? True. (Especially ours, with a touch of silk.)
That it keeps you warm when the sea breeze rolls in at ten o'clock in the evening? Also true.
It's almost irritating how well it works.
So if you've never tried summer wool, this is a pretty good time to find out what all the fuss is about.
And if you already have, you'll understand why we're talking about it.

We’ve literally gone back to our roots and given Nature a seat on our board.
On June 3rd, we became the first company in the Nordics, and one of the first in the world, to appoint Nature as a formal board member.
Representing Nature is Karoline Andaur, Secretary General of World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), with the same rights and responsibilities as every other board member. That means Nature now has both a voice and a vote.
Because if we genuinely believe we need to take better care of nature and biodiversity, then Nature should have real influence – not just a place in our sustainability reports.

We have an amazing product. One that keeps you warm when it's cold, cool when it's hot, and works just as well on late summer evenings as it does on cold winter days.
And yet, we've hardly talked about it. We wanted to start telling people more about it, but we weren't quite sure how.
Then we looked at the photos we had of this amazing product. And honestly? They were a bit mediocre. Some are good. Some were taken in the mountains by Jo and Magnus, the founders who started the company. And then we have some studio shots of the wonderful Julie.
But the male model who was supposed to come to the photoshoot got sick. So Adrian from the shop stepped in with just four hours' notice. On top of that, we brought the wrong size for him, so the result was... perfectly okay.
As a result, many of the photos just look a little... well, off. We're a bit embarrassed by them. We don't have time to take new ones, and we don't want to use AI.
But we do want to tell the world about this amazing product. So we're just going to say it as it is. We're a little embarrassed by the photos. And we're probably still a startup that doesn't quite get everything right.
So take a look at the photos of Jo and Magnus. Of Thomas, a friend of Jo's who helped out on one of the photoshoots. And of Ida and Julie, who are friends of ours.
In some of the photos, the garments fit perfectly. In others, not quite as well.
But that's how it is.
It's real.
And the product is amazing.
OK?

Who made your jersey?
Most supporter jerseys tell you which team you're cheering for. And who's the sponsor.
Very few tell you who actually made them.
The Play More Jersey is made from 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton, sewn by Lúcia and her colleagues in Portugal, under fair working conditions and with full transparency.
Not exactly standard practice in the supporter merchandise industry.
But then again, that's exactly one of the reasons we, together with We Play Green, created The Play More Jersey 😎
