Buy less. Play more. Designed in Norway. Made by skilled Europeans. It all started with two sweaty friends and a YouTube sewing tutorial.

The clothes we had weren't smart enough, so we made our own that were better for playing in the Norwegian playground. All of a sudden we had a company. What started out with creating functional clothes has turned into a bigger goal. Now, our goal is to help you decrease your clothing consumption. We do this by challenging the entire textile industry's business model. While "everyone" else is trying to tell you that this year's products are better than last year's, we are here to tell you that the clothes you bought ten years ago are stil "the sh*t". Forget planned obsolescence – we are planning to last.

Let's not greenwash.⁠
⁠
It’s easy to talk about what clothes are made of. Recycled materials. Organic cotton. Undyed yarn. Natural materials. All of these things are good. And it’s our responsibility to make them better.⁠
⁠
But at the same time, textile production without a footprint is impossible.⁠
⁠
That’s why we also need to talk about what happens after a garment is made. You know - when it gets a lucky owner.⁠
⁠
So here’s our challenge to you:⁠
Wear it. A lot. A whole lot. Repair it. Again and again. And keep wearing it for a long time. Because the more we use each garment, the fewer garments we need to buy and produce.⁠

How hard can it be to make good clothes? ⁠
⁠
Very hard, it turns out. That is, if you want to do it right. ⁠
⁠
If you have every tool available, all the chemicals, all the materials, all the manufacturers – it’s actually pretty straightforward. But if you want to make quality clothes while also taking care of nature and the people throughout the supply chain, it becomes extremely difficult.⁠
⁠
Should we, like almost everyone else making wool baselayers, use Superwash in our clothes, for example?⁠
⁠
These are difficult dilemmas. And this autumn, we want to talk openly about them.⁠
⁠

DO WE REALLY NEED TO WEAR OIL?⁠
Is it raining cats and dogs? Then it’s pretty damn nice to have something that’s 100% waterproof for hours on end, like a shell jacket or traditional oilskins.⁠
⁠
And by all means, clothes made from plastic (oil) have some seriously good qualities. We’re not here to knock them. They’re lightweight, can take a beating, and can be both windproof and waterproof. We use them ourselves (once in a blue moon).⁠
⁠
But what about sunny days? Or a bit of drizzle? A hike in the woods? Does your jacket really need to be made from oil?⁠
⁠
We’re not so sure.⁠
⁠
What we’re a little puzzled by is that plastic clothing has become the norm for all kinds of use, especially outdoor activities. Fortunately, we can see things are changing. More and more people are discovering just how comfortable and functional natural materials can be. They don’t leave you feeling clammy and wet from the inside in the same way, they feel much better against your skin, and they look better.⁠
⁠
That’s why we’ve made outerwear in Ventile cotton. A tightly woven, durable and surprisingly weather-resistant natural material. And cotton lasts. It can handle a lot of use, is easier to repair, and actually just gets better with age. Marks, wrinkles and wear become part of the story.⁠
⁠
Besides, even though there are some real dilemmas around this, we believe in building a future with as little plastic as possible. Especially when natural materials perform better in use. But don’t take our word for it. See what some of our customers have to say here:

It's easy to talk about materials and design. But what about the people who actually make our clothes? After all, quality should also mean that the people behind the product are treated well.⁠

That's why we're part of I Made Your Clothes, a global transparency campaign that builds on the message behind , initiated by Fashion Revolution. Not because putting a face to a garment makes it more sustainable, but because transparency matters. Ukaleq Slettemark is an Olympic biathlete from Greenland and an NP ambassador. And equally important: she uses her platform to actively root for nature and her homeland. Maybe that's why she reminds us of something pretty simple: that everything we make, buy and use comes at a cost.

She set herself a challenge: how far would she have to ski to cover the distance that equals all the water a single average t-shirt needs to exist?

The result? Watch the film. But here's the conclusion: buy clothes by all means - just make sure they're clothes you love and wear again and again and again.
