Last Saturday we kicked off soccer for ​P​re​-School​-​G​rade​ 5​ ​at ISS ​(​P​re​-School 2​-PYP 6 at BISS) at the fields around ISS and had a great time! I know some of you were not able to make it, so we are providing the following form, so you can sign up now to take part starting this Saturday:

We are not buying team shirts this year, so we have reduced the price to 200 NOK per player, which you can send to the following account:

This Saturday we will start at 10am with practice time followed by games. Please wear a soccer jersey if you already have one. Pre​-School-Kindergarten at ISS (Pre-School 2-PYP 1 at BISS) ​​will meet on the fenced in field next to the playground, Grades 1-3 (PYP 2-4) will meet on the Madla field beside the school, and Grades 3-5 (PYP 4-6) will meet on the field behind the school playground.​ A parent ​needs to be there for children ​who are 3-5 years old.

Our plan is to play on the following dates:

Sept. 30
Oct. 7 (if enough people indicate they will be in town
Oct. 21

SAA Soccer Registration Form

Primary School Parents,

We (David Fresch, Stuart Cutter, and Tim Morris) are working hard to get soccer up and running this fall, but we need to be sure we have enough adult volunteers to ensure the season runs effectively. If we cannot get enough coaches (we need about a dozen), then we will not be able to have soccer this season. If you are interested in volunteering to be a coach, please email [email protected] asap. If you are interested in helping to coordinate one of our three age groups (PreK-Kindergarten, 1st-3rd, 3rd-5th), then please let us know that as well. Each of these age groups plays on a different field, and we need someone to take responsibility for overseeing the coaches and teams in that group.

To get us kicked off, we are planning to meet up this Saturday at 10 am with all players who are interested in playing. We will have sign up forms available there and try to get some skirmishes going, but, again, we will need coaches to step up and get the games going. If your child is PreK-Kindergarten, they should go to the small astroturf field behind the school that is fenced in. For grades 1-5, they should meet up on the Madla field first to sign up, then we will send the older kids to the field in the running track if necessary. The cost will be 200 NOK per child this year (this is half price because we do not plan to buy jerseys at this late date).
