The Nepal Olympic Museum is proud to feature the iconic South Asian Games gold medals won by Nepal’s renowned marathoner, Baikuntha Manandhar. Baikuntha Manandhar

A four time Olympian, Baikuntha Manandhar etched his name in sports history by achieving a spectacular hat-trick of gold medals across the first three editions of the SAF (South Asian Federation) Games:

•1st SAF Games (Kathmandu, 1984): Gold in the inaugural marathon on home soil.
•2nd SAF Games (Dhaka, 1985): Back-to-back marathon Gold in Bangladesh.
•3rd SAF Games (Calcutta, 1987): A third consecutive Gold, setting a record time of 2:15:03 that stood for over three decades.
