We are so excited for our collab game **tonight** in Pōneke for Wellington Pride Festival I Tū whakahīhī e Te Whanganui-ā-Tara
Ngā mihi nui, we cannot thank you enough Richter City Roller Derby for all the mahi put in to prepare for tonight.
We love the themes and people that are being celebrated tonight!
We're proud to announce that next Saturday will feature two spectacular games. Grab your tickets now! 🏳️🌈
Game one, starting at 5pm, is the Mana Match. This is a developmental game named for two trailblazing trans Māori wāhine who shaped Pōneke and Aotearoa. 🏳️⚧️
Game two, the Slay Track Collective, follows at 7pm. This is a competitive lineup inspired by the power and pride of ballroom culture. Ballroom culture has long been a sanctuary for q***r and trans people, especially Black and Brown communities, offering safety belonging, and a place to shine. 💃🏾
Keep an eye out for the team lineups! 👀

Rā whānau Haylee a.k.a. Hell Hound 🎂
Hell Hound is one of the members of our Governance Team and we are so lucky to have her! Bringing not only years of derby experience to the team, but supporting our kaupapa with her studies in Decolonising Society & Politics.
We hope that you have a joy and love filled day today!
🎉 Please help us celebrate Haylee's birthday, and go give her new league Bridge City Roller Derby a like! 🏳️🌈

re: Labour weekend event
Arohamai to those who have expressed interest but we have had to cancel.
The venue was flooded about 3wks ago and we have been trying to secure an alternative venue/game. However this has not been sucessful.
We should've reached out earlier to those who put in EOI and I understand dusappointment that we haven't sooner. Despite what we have going on individually that is something I must take responsibility and apologise for - Cooper.

Team New Zealand Roller Derby have publicly released their limited edition tees to support OutLine Aotearoa, sending 25% of profits their way... And they are designed by our very own super talented Deputy Chair Mike M Winiana Artistry!

OutLine also provide peer support for trans and non-binary people in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, and for conversion practice survivors throughout Aotearoa.
OutLine’s goals are to support, affirm and advance Aotearoa New Zealand Rainbow communities to achieve successful outcomes by:
🌈Providing programmes which cater for social, educational and emotional needs
🌈Advocating for social, cultural and legal rights

This is a sentiment that we at QTRD tautoko/would like to echo. And add a derby thought too 🤔
We see *some* roller derby teams and leagues often jumping on the Pride bandwagon, without always asking these admittedly challenging questions too. 👎
💡We'd love to encourage for teams and leagues to reflect when they decide to engage in the Pride space and ask themselves why they are doing it. And we'd thoroughly support an element of funds going to a q***r support organisation, especially in these difficult times. 🫶
🙊 And on the topic of a Pride Game! Keep your eyes peeled 🍌 for an exciting announcement to come!!

Kia ora e te whanau,
Unfortunately due to opposing teams unavailability we are postponing our Hamilton Pride Bout. We understand the importance of visibility for our QT whānau in Kirikiriroa and send our aroha and manaaki. It is our hope that as we grow our community we will be able to resume our plans to play in Kirikiriroa ❤️

Kia ora koutou!
It is with mixed emotions that we have gratefully accepted a farewell koha from Ōtautahi Rollers . As the club no longer exist they have trusted us with their remaining funds as a group that reflects their kaupapa.
As a league they welcomed all genders, embraced diversity and pride in their team. They lived their values and always stood up for our rainbow whānau when it mattered, even when it was inconvenient. This was noticed not only by people within their league, but also by others observing the awesome mahi they were doing.
We are very grateful for the mahi they have put in and we are excited that we will be able to continue their legacy of embracing our q***r and takatāpui whānau in roller derby, all over the motu. As a rōpū, group, who are new, we are honoured to have this recognition from them, and we look forward to doing them proud.
So with sadness and gratitude, we say farewell and ngā mihi nui to Ōtautahi Rollers. And we’ll sign off with the manaaki they left us all with. Arohanui.
He aroha whakatō, he aroha p**a mai.
If kindness is sown, then kindness you receive
