NO TEARS LEFT TO CRY - Venus has left soft and emotional Cancer, and entered the brave new world of Leo ❤️‍🔥

The next few weeks are all about showing those you love how much you really care - make a song a dance, shout it from the rooftops, tell it to the world! Leo is a bit of a show off, and loves to be centre of attention, so this is the perfect time to embrace some showmanship 🎪 Make grand gestures and declarations to your friends, parents, siblings, your Insta crush, even yourself 😻 think loud and proud for Venus in Leo, and bask in receiving the same kind of honest, open and loyal love that Leo brings.

One thing to watch out for is your motivation for love, and showing love, during Venus’s transit through Leo 🦁 Like I said, Leo can be a bit of a show off, and sometimes this can lead to insincere flattery, or forging relationships for the wrong reasons - for status, a trophy or to come across as popular and widely liked. Before you make a commitment to someone or dream up a big soppy speech, check that you’re doing it out of genuine attraction and affection, rather than for the gram 🤳🏼 and don’t be fooled by others’ flashy displays of passion, as they too may only be for show 🤡

Just as Mercury leaves it’s retrograde trend and our work lives, daily routines and communications get back on track, Neptune beings its 5 month retrograde pattern today 😳

During this time, the illusions, fantasies and false realities that have clouded our view of the world will be stripped away 🌥 This can lead to more negative thoughts and sensitivity, as we realise the gravity of the situation.

However, we are being shown the truth of what we might have been running away from - a past hurt or painful memory 🥀 this can be a shock, scary and confronting, and lead to further struggle and withdrawal. With our emotions heightened, this can be a difficult time for many. But whatever is not brought to light becomes our unconscious inner turmoil; having it out in the open means we are able to acknowledge it, grapple with it, and then let it go 🌬

Be kind to yourself and others during this time. Ask for help if you need and remember that nothing that has already happened, and nothing that has not yet happened, can hurt you in the present moment 📍

Tonight’s full moon in Capricorn feels nourishing and fulfilling, a time to see, enjoy and relish in the fruits of our labours over the last month 🍒🍊🍎

In Capricorn, an earth sign, and with this full moon so close to the solstice (and Matariki), this is an activating event, inspiring us to realise and make the most of what we have access to 🎁 Capricorn is resource focused, so it’s a time to take stock of finances, knowledge, and possessions.

In Capricorn, the Moon usually struggles to find the nourishment it needs, making this a moment to focus on the body, its appetites for food and rest, and its yearning for comfort and tenderness ❣️

As always, the full moon isn’t the best time to start a new project, as lots of things can feel heightened and slowed down. Journal, meditate, have an early night and rejuvenate - nurture and nourish 📕

The signs as Ariana songs 🎤 in honour of the queen of Cancer season herself 🤍

We did it gang 🥳 Mercury retrograde is coming to an end, and communication, technology and routine will slowly start to return to normal 📳 We will feel a shift in energy and notice that we, and others, are more able to express ourselves and understand what others are saying. Take it slow - this won’t happen overnight - and, as always, this is NOT an excuse to text your ex 📵

Break out the tissues and prepare for micro aggressions - it’s CANCER SEASON BABY 🤧🦀🥲🏄🏻‍♀️🚰🔕 literally, this month we are ALL baby 👼🏼

Self-protective, sensitive and nurturing, Cancer is known for drama and waterworks, but really this sign just wants security and comfort 🔐 Will they give to get though? Absolutely not! Also notoriously passive aggressive, Cancers will expect you to mind read, and punish you when you don’t pick up on their ~vibes~

When they feel safe, loved and cared for, though, Cancers can be the most affectionate, loyal and loving friends, parents and partners ♥️ if there is Cancer in your chart, or a Cancer in your life, embrace the turmoil and let yourself be vulnerable every now and then. This month especially, we will be tempted to push others away in an act of self preservation, or to put up walls against the world 🚧 but this means we miss out on the good as well as the bad.

We will also most likely find ourselves over analysing micro clues of distance, rejection and tension, imagining that someone has ghosted or lost interest in us, when really they’re just enjoying an extra long shower 🛁

The Maramataka is the Maori lunar calendar - it literally means ‘the moon turning’. There are 12 or 13 months in the Maori calendar, depending on region, and each is delineated by the changing seasons and environment.

More specifically, the Maramataka shown here gives more specific guidance on when to plant vegetables, when energy will be high, and when to give back 🕊 During the full moon, plant your own herb garden, and plan/cook meals ahead of time to reduce waste 🍝 a couple of weeks later, the earth’s energy will wane with the light of the moon, so it will be a good time to give back by planting a tree or going for a bush walk 🌲

The next full moon is this coming Friday 25th June, so along with your usual reflection, meditation and relaxation rituals, throw in some gratitude and acknowledgement of the earth, in alignment with Matariki, as well ✨🌛

Today marks the official start of Matariki, or the Maori new year 🌙 let’s take a look at the seven stars in this constellation, which appears in the night sky around this time of year, and what each of them represent in Maori mythology 🗿

✨ Matariki represents reflection, hope, our connection to the environment, and community
✨ Waitii represents fresh water 💦 and kai (food) that comes from them
✨ Waitaa represents the ocean and the kai that comes from it 🐠
✨ Waipuna aa Rangi is the star that represents rain
✨ Tupuaanuku represents all food sources that grow in the ground 🍠
✨ Tupuaarangi represents everything that grows or lives in trees 🌳🦜🍓
✨ Ururangi is the star that represents the winds 🌬

At this time of year, Maori remember their ancestors and would traditionally honour gods who would provide good crops 🌾 new trees were also planted to signify new beginnings 🌱 although this event typically aligns with the end of the autumn harvest and the celebration of crops, we can think about it more generally as a time to sow seeds for the future, and appreciate what we have reaped since the beginning of the Western calendar year 🍇

Tomorrow I’ll post the Maramataka - a dial aligned with phases of the moon which can be used to plan and understand the events of the next 12 months 🌜🌛

Tomorrow marks the start of ⭐️ Matariki ⭐️ in the Maori calendar - also known as the Maori New Year!

Matariki is the Maori name for a group of seven stars known by many names around the world - Pleiades, the seven sisters, or a mother and her six daughters ✨⭐️💫🌟✨💫

In Maori mythology, the appearance of Matariki in the night sky around this time of year marks the new year 🗓 Individually, each of the seven stars has a name, a meaning, and gives insight into the year ahead 🔮

Tomorrow I’ll break down each individual star and its meaning 🪄 then we’ll look at the year ahead and whats in store!
