💭 When did looking after your health become a luxury?

Many people think joining a gym is an expensive extra. Something they’ll do “one day” when they have more time, more money, or when life settles down.

But here’s a different way to look at it.

Most people think nothing of spending money on coffee, takeaways, streaming subscriptions, alcohol, new phones, or eating out. Yet spending $49-$59 per week on improving your health is often seen as a luxury.

The truth is that your health influences almost every aspect of your life.

✅ Your energy levels
✅ Your confidence
✅ Your mental wellbeing
✅ Your strength and mobility
✅ Your productivity at work
✅ Your ability to play with your kids and grandkids
✅ How you feel when you look in the mirror

According to the World Health Organization, regular physical activity can reduce the risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, stroke, and several cancers, while also improving mental health and quality of life.

The scary part isn’t the cost of investing in your health.

It’s the cost of not investing in it.

Poor health can lead to increased medical expenses, reduced quality of life, lost opportunities, and years spent unable to do the things you love.

At HP Fitness, we see people every day who become stronger, fitter, more confident, have more energy, sleep better, make new friends, and genuinely enjoy exercising.

Not because they’re elite athletes.

Because they decided their health was worth prioritising.

Your health isn’t an expense.

It’s one of the most important investments you’ll ever make.

What are your thoughts? Do you think society views fitness as a luxury or a necessity?

🏔️ Summit Performance Challenge Update – Week 5 of 8

We’ve now completed 5 weeks of our 8-Week Summit Performance Challenge, and the consistency from our members has been incredible to watch.

One of the biggest predictors of success isn't finding the perfect workout or diet. It's simply showing up consistently, week after week. That's exactly what so many of our members have been doing.

🔥 Current attendance leaders:

🥇 Fiona M – 26 classes
🥈 Sally – 25 classes
🥉 Gwyn – 24 classes

👏 Merilyn & Shar – 23 classes
👏 Kalesto, Kelsi H & Vicky C – 22 classes
👏 Georgia – 21 classes
👏 Wendy, Lisa W-K & Ruth – 20 classes

These 12 members are averaging 4+ classes every week during the challenge. That level of commitment deserves some recognition!

What's even more impressive is that there are another 18 members averaging 3+ classes per week, putting them well on track for some fantastic results by the end of the challenge.

💙 One thing we love about our challenges is that they're not just about weight loss or performance. They're about building habits, creating accountability, and helping people stay consistent long enough to see real change.

We know life gets busy. Between work, family, kids, sport, and everything else, finding time for yourself can be tough.

That's why our group fitness model works so well:
✅ Workouts done in under an hour
✅ Up to 7 classes per day Monday to Friday, 1-2 sessions on the weekend.
✅ Kids are welcome to come along as we have a kids' area
✅ Coaching, accountability, challenges and support are included in memberships
✅ A community that helps keep you motivated and celebrates each win.

Whether your goal is to lose weight, build strength, improve fitness, tone, return to the gym after a few years or simply feel better, consistency is where the magic happens.

A huge congratulations to everyone taking part in the challenge so far. Keep showing up, keep putting in the work, and let's make these final 3 weeks our strongest yet! 💪🔥

Which team (Blue or Black) or class time do you think is bringing the most energy to the challenge right now? Let us know below! 👇

WE’RE HIRING | PART TIME GROUP FITNESS COACH

HP Fitness is growing again, and we’re looking for another coach to join our team. Kayla is going on Mat leave and we will need evening cover for her once she steps back. For now we have some hours available before then.

This isn’t just about running sessions. It’s about walking into a room, knowing people by name, lifting their energy, and helping them get through things they didn’t think they could do.

We’ve built a strong community here. People who show up for each other, support each other, and actually enjoy training. We’re looking for someone who fits that energy and wants to be part of it.

You might be a great fit if you:

• Qualified Trainer
• Love coaching group training sessions
• Genuinely enjoy working with people of all fitness levels
• Bring good energy into a room without forcing it
• Care about form, progress, and confidence
• Are reliable and easy to work with
• Have experience (preferred, but not everything)

The role:

• Part time coaching role
• Morning and evening classes (to be discussed)
• Leading group sessions at HP Fitness
• Supporting members with technique, motivation, and consistency
• Being part of a community focused gym

If you’re someone who cares about people just as much as training, this will feel like home.

If that sounds like you, send us a message and tell us a bit about yourself.

Last weekend, Hayley stepped onto one of the biggest stages in fitness and competed at the Oceania Champs for Deadly Dozen… and came 9th overall 🤯🔥

To say we’re proud would be an understatement.

She was in the very first heat of the day and to have gotten there from competing only once just shows how far you can really go if you put your mind to something.

What most people see is the result. What we see is the early mornings, the exhaustion, the discipline, the injuries pushed through, the consistency, and the determination to keep showing up even when it would’ve been easier not to.

The dedication behind the scenes has been unreal, and watching that hard work pay off on the competition floor was something special.

Not only are you an incredible athlete, but you lead this community by example every single day. Your work ethic, passion, and ability to push beyond limits inspires so many people inside these gym walls.

Please help us congratulate her oHayley Parsonschievement 👏💙

9th in Oceania is no joke. We are so freaking proud.

So proud of you 💙

Also, one of our members, Chelsea competed on the day and shaved off 5 minutes from her last event even though she was sick, she still showed up, still put in her all and showed her daughters that you can do hard things, work hard towards something you can about and do great at it!

Thank you so much for the legends that came and supported Hayley & Chelsea, friends/members and family, much love to you guys 💙

The hardest part about joining a gym is getting your foot in the door for the first time. It's a mental game, you want to join a gym not only for physical reasons but for your mental health too, right?

I know I feel a heck of a lot better after a session, and it's more fun to do it with other locals who are here to better themselves.

Much love to everyone

Week 3/8 of the challenge, and we are seeing some AMAZING attendance!

We have welcomed a large handful of new members since the challenge started, and a big thank you to you guys for making them feel welcome.

I am hearing really great feedback and seeing more and more of our members looking absolutely amazing! Lots of toning, slimming, and building strength/muscle. This makes me so proud, and that comes down to the hard work you guys are putting in, so huge shout-out to the following

(for last week):
Vicky C for hitting 7 classes, including yoga!
Hilda and Fi for hitting 6 classes
Steph, Shar, Sally, Ruth, Merilyn, Mark W, Kelsi H, Kalesto, Dean, and Amanda S for hitting 5 sessions

Wendy, Tegan O, Rose, Rochelle, Mark G, Leshana, Lisa W-K, Katie, Jeneane, Jacob, Gwyn, Georgia, David, Angela and Dee for smashing 4 sessions.

Shout out to everyone else still making sessions when life gets in the way. There are lots of kids sick at the moment, which we understand can have an effect on attendance.

This week is mental health awareness week, so please grab a note from 1 of the jars, and if you can think of someone that you want to say something positive to, write them a note with their name on it and put it in the other jar.

Remember why you joined us, and remember how far you have come!!!
