Mt Albert Ponsonby AFC

It is probably the quietest weekend we have had in a long time. There are no Junior, Youth or Men’s 1st team and u23 games. The Young Stallions have a bye, the Lizard Kings game has been postponed. It feels like most of the club are not playing.

What we do have on is Friday night First Kicks and Fantails. Get your children down at 5pm and let them fall in love with the beautiful game. The bar and kitchen will be open.

The 3 senior teams that do have a Cup game would love your support. On Saturday the Fruit Bats are at Anderson Park at 1pm, the Commercial Metals Baggies at Rosedale Park at 3pm. The Ladies play Sunday at Anderson Park at 11am.

Here is your first Senior Golden Boot update.

James Kirby Organ is top of the pile, scoring 11 goals so far for the Commercial Metals Baggies. He is joined in the top 5 by team mates Michael Paget on 7 goals and Ben Billings on 5.

Positions 2 and 4 are held by the two Sam’s from the Fruit Bats. McAllister on 8 goals and Percival on 6.

Rosalie Scott-Morrison leads the Ladies team with 4 goals.

It’s a backed home schedule for the teams of Mt Albert Ponsonby this weekend. Only the Men’s 1sts, u23s, Baggies and u10 Hedgehogs are away.

That means it’s very easy to support your favourite local community club, before going and supporting your favourite professional club Auckland FC.

After a good win last weekend, we travel to Whenuapai to take on West Coast Rangers FC at Fred Taylor Park. A win here we jump up into the top half of the table.

The u23s kick off at 12.30pm.

A good result at home. Goals to Dawson Straffon, Liam Bailey, Connor Turton and Antonio Bonkovich.

The u23s drew 2-2. Goals to Liam Platt and Jesse Dobson.

What a beautiful Friday we have in Tāmaki Makaurau. A perfect start to a weekend of Football for our teams.

Starting this evening, we have First Kicks and Milo Fantails. Saturday has teams all over Auckland. Then Sunday our Ladies and Youth teams will finish off the packed weekend.

Get along to any of these grounds, cheer your heart out and hopefully watch a MAP team win!

The u8/9s are all at Ken Maunder again from 8.30am. They had a lot of fun last weekend.
