This kaupapa was designed and built by our rangatahi, for their peers and whānau. They’ve put in huge mahi to bring this platform to life and support our community through the back-to-school season.

You might notice a few bugs along the way — this is a new site and the team will be fixing things as they go. Our rangatahi received a small amount of funding to get this kaupapa off the ground and build the website (which is now completed). They are now managing and running the platform themselves, which takes time, energy, and resources.
At this stage, there is no further funding, so we really appreciate your patience as the team continues to improve and grow the site while making things work with what they have.
If it’s school-related and still usable — uniforms, jackets, backpacks, stationery, lunchboxes — please list it and help another whānau out.

Our team is back, grounded and ready, and we’ve stepped into planning our new direction for 2026.
Guided by a refreshed vision from our Board, our kaimahi have come together to reflect, dream, and map out what the next chapter could look like. There’s a real sense of energy and unity in the room.
We’re excited for what’s ahead. Change is not only necessary — it’s healthy. This year, we are intentionally placing people at the centre of everything we do, including the wellbeing and growth of our own kaimahi.

Happy New Year!!! We'reeee back! We are re-vamping things this year with laser beam focus. Our kaimahi are currently in strategic planning mode for the year looking at new exciting plans for 2026. Stay tuned for the new updated calendar to come for the year to be released before the end of this month, before kick start back into things again.
Till then let's take a moment to reflect back on the amazing job all of our street leaders and residents under our NZ Street NZ kaupapa did in relaunching the Otara Ōtara Christmas Lights again for our community. It ended up being the largest residential Christmas event in the country! Otara you did that! Super proud.
