Ōtara Pool and Leisure Centre

Ōtara Pool and Leisure Centre Otara Pool and Leisure Centre is your friendly neighbourhood centre for fitness. We're proud to have something for the whole family.

Ōtara Pool and Leisure Centre is here to help you get active in a fun and supportive environment — whether that’s in the gym, going for a swim, joining a group fitness class or getting amongst our social sports leagues. Our double court stadium hosts lots of exciting competition events, but there're still plenty of times when you can drop in and play some basketball (or volleyball or netball) — or just shoot a few hoops.

⚠️ Did you know?
If a glass bottle breaks near the pool, we must close the pool to keep everyone safe. 🚧

Our team then needs to check the whole pool and surrounding area and remove every tiny piece of glass. This can take a while - but safety has to come first.

💧 You can help us avoid closures.

Please bring non‑glass bottles when you visit the centre.
Your choice helps us keep our pools open, safe, and enjoyable for everyone. Thank you! 🌊

🐠 Helpful tips for our little swimmers

For some little ones, wearing a swim cap for the first time can feel a bit different. That's why we recommend trying one at home before lessons start. A quick practice in the bath or shower can help build confidence and make lesson time feel more familiar.

💡 Prefer something a little softer? Lycra caps are a comfortable alternative to silicone caps and can be easier to put on.

💧 Swimming caps are required for all Learn to Swim students aged 3 years and over.

Happy swimming! 💦
