Last night we attended a special welcome for members of the 1982 and 2010 FIFA World Cup squads into camp for dinner, sharing stories and connecting across three generations of All Whites 🤍

It was great to be watching All Whites international football again, at Eden Park Stadium, Auckland home of the All Blacks.
However, disappointing to go down 2-0 to a very average Finland team.
The highlight of the night for me was catching up with so many friends from the past.
We need to get ourselves together and reverse this result in the second clash.

𝙇𝙚𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙙 𝙤𝙛 𝙁𝙤𝙤𝙩𝙗𝙖𝙡𝙡 - 𝙒𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙮 𝙎𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙥𝙚

Wendy is a New Zealand football legend who transitioned into coaching, administration, and mentoring after a stellar playing career. She earned 53 caps and scored 38 goals for the Football Ferns between 1980 and 1995, one of the top goal scorers in history.

After retiring as a player, Wendy committed to giving back through coaching at regional and school levels. In the Bay of Plenty she has coached youth teams, school sides, and community programmes, including her grandchildren's teams.

She has also taken roles in raising coaching standards and female representation in the game.

We were at the All Whites game this week, and look who we were sitting next to.

I caught up with my
old mentor Barrie Truman at the recent All Whites game.
Barrie was a big influence on my coaching career in the early seventies, and there are very few people who leave such an impression on my mind with regards to their coaching ability.
