As the winter bugs start to rear their ugly heads it’s time to get back into using the neti pot.
It sits on the shower glass and looks at me every day.
Today I put it to good use giving the nasal passages a good flush and hey presto, clear as a bell again.

The image care of George Mack follows the theme on being At Cause or At Effect.
This is the same with a different meme.
At Effect: Person A, low agency is how George frames it.
At Cause: Person B, high agency. Making life happen for them rather than letting happen to them. Subtle input difference, huge outcome difference.

"Unexpected forms of generosity:
Being early can be a form of generosity. You wait, so they don't have to.
Leaving something unsaid can be a form of generosity. You don't always need the last word.
Delivering your work on time can be a form of generosity. You make life easier for everyone downstream.
Not taking things personally can be a form of generosity. You give people the space to say things imperfectly."

It’s a simple concept.
Other phrases that mean the same thing:
• Proactive vs reactive
• Creator vs victim
• Player vs passenger
• Driver vs drifter
• Owner vs blamer
• Accountable vs excuse maker
• Solution focused vs problem focused
• Responsibility vs justification
• Empowered vs powerless
• Choice vs chance
• Intentional vs accidental
Which lands for you?
If you think you are more of one than the other, take time to notice where it is showing up in your life.
Work on one at a time and chip away at being the former rather than the latter.

Get help, get support EARLY, when you find yourself injured.
11 months ago I injured the end of my 5th metatarsal, where fibularis brevis, see pic, attaches.
Today was the first day I have run since mid March 2025 without pain. It was a joy, I was looking for it, expecting it to rear its ugly head mid run…but no, nothing 😁.
Too late in the piece after 300k+ in the wrong shoes I decided to throw them away and get help. Strangely being out of those shoes started the healing process, too little too late.
Distinguished sports physician visits; inc MRI scan, suggesting topical creams, led to the podiatrist, who had a completely opposing view to the sports physician, literally a 180 opinion on the intervention needed to help that part of my foot heal.
Today pain free after such a long time. We can’t rest our feet if we’re on them all day!
What’s my point: as soon as you notice something different, get advice and from a few different people. They will not always agree. The sooner you intervene the sooner you will be on the right path.
Us blokes are pretty bloody poor at doing that and this is another reminder to me that we do need medical support sometimes, we don’t always have the answer ourselves.
But keep moving, don’t ever stop!
