🎾 Exciting news!
Work to resurface our top two courts will begin on Tuesday 2nd June, weather permitting, and is expected to take around two weeks to complete. During this time, the bottom court will remain available for use.
We’re looking forward to having two brand-new courts ready ahead of the new season! 🙌
Exciting progress for our club this season! 🎾
Our main focus has been the resurfacing of our courts. Due to financial constraints, we scaled the project back to the top two courts and went through a fresh round of tenders while continuing our grant applications.
We’re thrilled to share that we were successful in securing funding support from Lion Foundation, Bobby Foundation, NZ Community Trust, and Constellation Community Trust. Alongside this, we’ve been incredibly fortunate to receive generous donations from our club members, sponsorship from Polly Wilson at Harcourts Mairangi Bay, and a Corporate Membership from Penberthy Insurance.
Thanks to this combined support, we’ve now awarded the contract to Game On Turf.
Work is scheduled to begin in the second half of May, and we’ll keep everyone updated as we get closer to the start date.
Thank you to everyone who has helped make this happen. We’re looking forward to seeing the transformation!
We are pleased to advise that we have reached donations totalling $43,700.00 towards our target of $50,000.00 to enable us to re-surface our top two courts. Many thanks to everyone that has donated so far, it is much appreciated.
We are still aiming to reach our target with the remaining $6,300.00 so if any one else is able to donate or knows anyone in the community or local businesses that would be prepared to donate, this would be greatly appreciated.
Our bank account number is 02-0271-0143599-01.
We are looking forward to replacing the old courts in the near future.
FAREWELL TO OUR PATRON & LIFE MEMBER KEITH
Keith has been a valued member of our club for over 45 years and has served as President for 5 years. He has organised senior interclub, tournaments and been the junior Club Captain for many years, as well as a help and mentor to other junior Club Captains.
Keith has also been willing and happy to roll up his sleeves and help out whenever necessary at the club.
Keith will be sorely missed at Castor Bay and we wish him the best.
