The Marlborough Muscle

The Marlborough Muscle is a dodgeball team that competes at various tournaments throughout NZ The Marlborough Muscle was formed in 2014.

It is comprised of Marlborough old boys currently training outside of Marlborough but who still want to represent their region. We look to continue to travel to tournaments in NZ and around the world where possible. The dodgeball scene in the world is growing, and this was shown by the recent wellington invitational which hosted 4 teams outside of NZ as well as 6 NZ teams. The Wellington Invitational was the biggest tournament in Australian history.

Congrats to all our players who participated in the New Zealand 2020 Nationals in Auckland over the weekend. And a massive thank you to Amy Bartlett and all those that helped run a fantastic tournament.

Our Men's team managed to take down the Auckland Bull Sharks to claim our first team gold. Shout out to Dylan Maurice Dedman-Ngahiwi who picked up the Men's MVP.

And our Mixed team lost to the Auckland Reef Sharks claiming silver. Congrats to the Auckland for the hard fought battle!

I'm sure you've all heard, NZ dodgeball nationals are in dunedin this year on the 24th of August. We are looking for some female players who would be interested in the mixed division. Message us if you're keen!

Good read in the saturday addition of the Marlborough Express this week, featuring us on the back page!

As you'll see in the article, we will be looking for sponsorship as we move toward Sydney 2015. If anyone would like to help or has some ideas for sponsorship that'd be great!

The boys in Christchurch will be playing Z-fighters at 8:40pm this week on thursday attempting to hold on to the handfurly shield! If anyone wants to come down and watch, it would be appreciated!

Good to see tonight 6 of the boys taking out the Canterbury Handfurly Shield for the thursday night league.

We took down Dr Apes (effectively the canty mens team) in a nail biting 4-3 win. The win came down to a 1 on 1 battle ending with 2 seconds on the clock.

A big shout out to all the boys and the fans who made it down! Lets see how long we can hold onto the shield!
