Our Last Official Winter Swim!
If you'd told us a year ago that these brave sisters would be swimming right through winter, we would have asked two questions:
What have you been drinking?
And can we have some? π
But when summer packed up and left, and the temperatures started heading south, something surprising happened. The enthusiasm didn't.
So we made them a deal:
You keep turning up, and we'll keep swimming.
Week by week, the winter survival gear started appearing. Double swim caps, booties, gloves... basically one step away from a full Antarctic expedition. Meanwhile, a few absolute legends stubbornly carried on in nothing but their togs, seemingly unaware that normal humans feel cold.
We recorded water temperatures as low as 11.5Β°C, which technically qualifies as "character building." We've even had a few new swimmers join us recently, despite all available evidence suggesting winter was not the ideal time to start.
Now, next Tuesday marks the first day of spring. The temperature is creeping up, the pollen is floating about, and these incredible ladies can officially say they have swum through the entire winter.
We are so proud of every single woman who showed up, faced the ocean, squealed just a little as that first icy trickle found its way into her swimsuit, and bravely risked an ice-cream headache by putting her face into water that felt suspiciously close to liquid ice.
You did it.
Winter threw everything at you, and you jumped in anyway.

We've been asked what's behind our strong adult membership growth over the past two seasons.
The answer isn't complicated. We've focused on creating a welcoming environment where everyone belongs, regardless of age, fitness level, or experience. We've learned that when people feel supported, encouraged, and connected to a community, amazing things happen.
One of the biggest gateways has been helping women discover that triathlon is for them. Not just experienced athletes, but first-timers, busy mums, walkers, joggers, cyclists, and anyone looking for a personal challenge.
That's exactly why events like the She Triathlon on 20 February 2027 matter. They give women the confidence to take that first step, set a goal, and achieve something they never thought possible.
If you've ever wondered whether you could do a triathlon, the answer is yes. Start where you are. We'll help with the rest.

Who will take home the First Responders Trophy on Sunday, 27 September?
The challenge is on, and the competition is heating up! We've had an incredible response, with teams signing up from across our amazing first responder community.
But when the dust settles, who will be crowned champion?
Fire and Emergency NZ
Auckland City District Police
Hato Hone St John
The best part? You don't need to be a marathon runner to make a difference.
Whether you run, walk, jog, shuffle, or just stubbornly refuse to stop, every lap counts! Simply complete at least one lap of the 4.2km course and your efforts will be added to your team's total.
This isn't about the fastest individual. It's about teamwork, community spirit, and seeing which first responder group can rack up the most laps together.
So lace up your shoes, rally your colleagues, and let's find out who has the biggest team, the strongest legs, and the most determination!
Who's your money on?
