8th of March - Stockcar City of Sails race meeting

Race 1 of the night and Vaughan did some great laps. Just a small wheel alignment needed before race 2. Really starting to get the car dialed in now.

Race 2 and another good finish but sadly that's the end for tonight. Took a hit which destroyed the radiator fan and something wrong with the clutch. Seems like one of the bearings decided to give up the ghost.

Still managed to come home 12th overall so really happy with that result. Making some great progress.

Well, first race, 9th lap in and we were in the wall.

Cade was having some fun tonight getting some taps in when he got put in the wall. Oil fire destroyed the electrics. The power steering hose blew. Bumped onto the manifold causing an oil fire and burnt up all the wires. Managed to get Cade out of the car incredibly quickly just a very sprained ankle. Looks like we will be out for a few weeks.
Feeling very grateful for the winch that we welded on late Monday night 😅

Wednesday 1st of December
Cade was racing tonight.
We started with a very dry track, dust was kicking up everywhere.
Cade got onto the track for the first race and unfortunately had to stop at the 3rd corner as he couldn't get into second gear, after getting back to the pits we discovered that the gearbox dropped a linkage.
After grabbing a spare washer, we were up and ready for the second race.
We were lined on on the dummy grid ready to go when the rain started pouring down. Unfortunately, even with a large amount of cars out trying to pack down the clay, it just wasn't enough and the night had to be called. Not without cade having a good play in the mud though, and ofcourse some waikaraka fireworks for the new year!

Saturday 23rd November

Cade was in the car tonight and managed to get the car on the track for all 3 races. Had a great ending to the night being able to drive the car onto the trailer at the end (We don't ask for much).

First race, we got spun around and the wheel gate got bent, aswell as loosing the front left.Had some help from some great guys (using some kiwi DIY) to get it straightened out enough again to get back out for the second race.
Second race was going well until the front right blew! Got that all up and ready and we were off and racing for race number 3 which we were able to finish and got some points on the board! Only to find when we got back to pits that we were missing our custom made fuel cap.
We had to do a lap of the track by foot at the end of the night and we were grateful to have found it;only slightly dented.

Side note: think were going to need some more fronts. 😂
