The ocean doesn’t recover on hope. It recovers with data. Our partner ORA is working to restore scallop populations with targeted reseeding to the wild, survival monitoring, and biomass rebuilding from hatchery to sea - building the evidence base for recovery. ORA Reefs combines ROV (remotely operated vehicle), drones, diver surveys, camera deployment, seaweed hatchery science and emerging technologies like AI-machine learning to establish baselines, and restore degraded marine habitat.

Aotearoa Ocean Racing unveils an all-Kiwi crew for The Ocean Race Atlantic 2026 🇳🇿
First fully Kiwi crew to take on an elite Ocean Race event in over 15 years.
Skippered by Conrad Colman, alongside Megan Thomson, Anna Merchant, Aaron Hume-Merry, and onboard reporter Georgia Schofield, racing New York to Lorient aboard the MSIG Europe IMOCA60.
Proudly launched in partnership with the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron, with three of the crew coming through the RNZYS Youth Training Programmes. This is what that pathway was built for.
Next stop: Newport and the start line in New York. 🚀
