Onehunga meet Zara! who has recently moved into the Coordinator role at our Bike Hub.

Many of you may already know Zara from Bike Hub Queens Wharf, where they have been Coordinator for the past year. Before that, they spent six months as an Assistant Coordinator at Bike Hub Forrest Hill, building their skills and getting to know the Bike Hubs community.

What Zara loves most about Bike Hubs is the people:

"I love meeting all the people that are passionate about contributing to our local bike culture and the lives of each other too. I've never met a place like it.

The chance to do something that helps people so deeply really is a gift that I am super grateful for!"

Please join us in welcoming Zara to Onehunga! 👋🚲💚

And a big thank you to Laurie Burger, who has headed off on an exciting European adventure to do some cycle touring and reconnect with his Dutch family. We wish you all the best for the journey, Laurie! 💚🚲✈️

We love sharing feedback from our Bike Hub community 🚲✨

"Very helpful staff, explain how to maintain as the idea is that people help themselves, but with enough info to be able to. Great selection of used bikes at modest prices!"

We'll also be closed tomorrow for a staff meeting.
We’ll be open our usual hours Friday & Sunday, 10am–2pm.

Last month, our Hub coordinator Laurens helped run bike hub pop-ups at AUT and University of Auckland, connecting with more than 750 students and chatting all things cycling 🚲

Funded by Auckland Transport, these activations brought free bike checks and plenty of opportunities to kōrero about getting around by bike. It was awesome seeing how many students are keen to cycle, with some even coming back to tell us they’d started riding to uni after getting support from the team.

Thanks to everyone who came and had a chat with us last month, we loved it! 💙 🚲
