Recently, I completed my final practicum on the long journey to becoming a fully qualified kaiako.
This week I was blessed by my visit Kaiako Emma Parker - vt, thank you so much for the gift pack.

We are valued for the work we achieve, and I have had three Visiting Kaiako who have gone over and above for me. I could not achieve this job with their support and our awesome regional leader Kimberley Allwright VT. 🥰

I have been on a break from Homebased to complete my final practicum.

Home Grown Kids: Canterbury/Timaru Home Based Childcare

At our Janine's Home-base Service through Home Grown Kids: Canterbury/Timaru Home Based Childcare we have started exploring our mana whenua and education for Sustainability to to become Kaitiakitanga guardians of our environment.

To achieve this we have learnt about the living creatures and plants in our natural environment and how to recycle to care for our environments.
We have visited the soft plastics recycling bin to drop of our soft plastics, supported our produce and naturally growing plants, read books. We have watched videos about hector dolphins and recycling, explored matching games, made natural art, and coloured images about our land and environments.

It was Cultural Celebration day today, so I wore a gorgeous outfit given to me by a previous whānau. 🥰

We also explore pegs and puzzles in the tuff tray, the tamariki are enjoying having a voice in what goes into the tray for exploration time. 🤩

We celebrated Anti-bullying awareness today, and explored with hedgehog blocks and shakers in the tuff tray. So much fun was had. 😊
