Sumner Community Pool

Well that's a wrap. The 2025/2026 season is over and the pool has been shut down for winter. Thank you to all keyholders and everyone who enjoyed our pool over summer. A huge thank you to our wonderful team of caretakers and lifeguards.
We wouldn't be able to operate...or have a gleaming pool... without the financial support of NZCT, Ferrrymead Foundation, Kiwi Gaming and the Scarborough Dippers.
Our next challenge is to raise funds ($90k😱) for a new heating system and we got off to a great start with a recent fundraiser at the Sumner Bowling Club. Thank you to everyone involved in it's organisation, particularly Ren Cameron and Ben Saville, and the generosity of our community for either donsting goods for the auction or buying them.

Today is the last chance to collect property left at the pool over summer. We have watches, jewelry, clothes, shoes, towels and goggles..So many children's goggles!! The office is open 1-4 today.

Come along and support the Sumner Community Pool's bowls fundraiser at the Sumner Bowling Club from 1pm, Sunday 29 March. Wet or fine.
We are raising funds for a much needed heat pump and to help us, the Sumner Bowling Club is hosting a bowls tournament and auction.

Spectators and supporters are welcome at anytime, with the auction getting underway just after 4pm.

Amongst the fantastic items we have for auction are a Kees Bruin limited edition print and a signed Finn Allen International T20 Black Caps Shirt from when he broke the T20 record.

This is a community event and a great excuse for a catch up and drink on a Sunday afternoon. Please bring cash for raffles and a donation bucket!

As we get towards the end of the season, we will now be closing pool an hour earlier at 7.30pm. So hours for keyholders doing the week are 6am-10am then 3pm-7.30pm. The pool will close for winter on Monday 5 April. In the meantime enjoy!!

The pool will be open as usual from 6am Wednesday morning. Door is fixed, water temp is still on cool side.

We've closed the pool today a) it's freezing and the water temp is struggling to get to 18 degrees.
b) The door locking mechanism is playing up due to the wet weather.
The pool is covered to try and retain and build some heat and we're hoping to have the door sorted layer today. Will keep you posted!

Missing something in your life?? Our lost property bins are overflowing! The pool office will be open 1-4pm Saturday and Sunday if you would like to be reunited with your forgotten treasures. We have so many children's goggles, clothes, shoes and pool toys that must belong to someone.

Unfortunately, due to malfunction in our door locking system, we are having to close the pool at 6pm this evening. It will be open at the usual time tomorrow morning.

Schools are back, which means the pool will be available to keyholders from 6am-9.45am and then from 3pm until 8.30pm. Our local schools use our pool between 10am and 2.30pm which is fantastic for our kids and our community.

As our local schools aren't back yet, keyholders can use the pool all day today and tomorrow (Tuesday). The water is super warm, so please enjoy our great community facility.
