Kubota Billfish Classic 2026

Marine Intel will be running dedicated grid-specific reports each day of the competition, along with live updates as the event unfolds.

Matt has been closely tracking the region and recent catches leading into the tournament, and both Matt and Kate will be on the ground in Whitianga with the mobile office to support Marine Intel members fishing the comp.

Ryan will be back at HQ keeping the data flowing and helping monitor conditions as they shift.

We’ve also got Mark from casting his eyes over the charts for an extra layer of insight.

If you’re fishing the Kubota, we’ll be working behind the scenes to keep you dialled in.

Looking forward to seeing plenty of you in Whitianga.

“Cheers mate, 301 for the win on the first time trying your intel. Lures in the water for 7 minutes.”

Andrew signed up to Marine Intel a few days ago.
First trip running the intel… hooked up after 7 minutes to this 123kg striped marlin.
Massive props to Bridget Buchanan on the rod.
Sometimes the difference really is fishing in the right spot.

These fish have come from all corners of the country. East Coast, West Coast, Far North and Deep South.

Different boats. Different crews. Same common factor. Good water found early and fished properly.

That’s the difference. Not luck. Not random trolling. Working the hotspots and working them well.

Quality fish week after week. Crews putting themselves in position and getting results. That’s what we do.

Stop guessing. Fish with intent.

Marine Intel member Simon on Harvest Moon and crew have landed the first Marlin in the Buller Bluewater Classic. He’s been over there for a few days, working the good water. The crew weren’t planning to fish today but after some good intel from members on the water. We had a quick call and the boat was hammer down to one of the marks!! Well done lads 🤙🏼
