TUESDAY COMMUNITY FUTSAL ⚽️🔥

With the wet weather around, futsal was the only way and the boys delivered.

Great turnout tonight with around 28 players, a strong mix of youth and senior boys guiding and pushing each other on the court. Teams were evenly matched, so we finished the night with a Youth Team of the Night vs Senior Team of the Night, picked from everyone who attended.

Another tight battle… and once again it ended all square 🤝

The youth bounced back with a late goal to level it up - showing real fight and belief.

Game 2 coming next session to decide the winner 👀⚽️

SUNDAY = FOOTBALL ALL DAY ⚽️💙

A full and fun day of football across all levels.

Morning kicked off with our regular Senior Afghan Football at Lancaster Park - an intense battle between two quality sides, with Javid Hussaini’s team taking the win over Asif Haidari’s today 👏⚽️

In the afternoon, some of the boys were invited for a friendly against our Sunday League brothers, Babasiga Lions. A fun, open game with plenty of goals - Lions coming away with the win 🦁🔥

We wrapped up the day with our Sunday Community Training, with first team, youth and juniors all involved. Coach Angel ran the session before finishing with an internal match to put training into game situations -great intensity and learning.

Juniors finished strong too, with Team MESSI (Abolfazl Haidari) beating Team RONALDO (Mohammad Ahmadi) to be tonight’s champs 🏆⚽️

Another great turnout for another top-quality session with Haris and our boy, Jaylen Rodwell last night at Avonhead Park 🙌

The boys got stuck into:
• Rondos
• 1v1 shooting
• Fast feet & movement
• 7v7 games
• Finishing with our favourite - Running 💪

High intensity, plenty of learning and lots of smiles. Exactly how it should be.

We’re also proud to officially announce our partnership with HZ Elite Coaching as Haris begins his journey;

This partnership is about raising standards, creating pathways and giving our players access to professional guidance right here in Christchurch. Haris is a great role model for the upcoming generations.

A huge thank you once again to both, Haris and Jaylen for delivering another quality session and continuing to inspire our boys. More to come 🔥

⚽️ FRIDAY COMMUNITY TRAINING ⚽️

Game night with a great turnout and a full 11v11 to finish the week. High intensity, good energy, and plenty to take away from the session.

The non-bibs team came out on top with a strong performance - great team play, pressing together at the right moments, winning the ball high and taking their chances. Well deserved 👏

We also had our juniors training tonight - a smaller and very young group, but awesome to see them out there learning, playing and enjoying the game.

A special night for little Ali, who joined us for his first session and also got to meet 2 professional footballers (Haris and Jaylen). Love seeing the next generation and current superstars together 💙

shoutout to Coach Angel. Even though he’s only just getting started with us, the improvements are already showing. Excited to see what the future holds 💪🔥

Another quality session tonight with our youth and senior boys bringing great intensity and energy. Huge credit to the boys for the effort and focus - this is the standard we want to keep building on.

Led by our coach, Angel, the session was competitive, sharp and full of learning. Plenty of positives to take away and plenty to work on - exactly how it should be.

FRIDAY COMMUNITY TRAINING - Latino Style ⚽️🔥

A big night for our youth and senior boys as we officially welcomed our new Chilean coach, Angel Toro Perez 🇨🇱⚽️

What a pleasure to have Angel down sharing his time, knowledge, and love of the game as he begins his coaching journey with us. We’ve known Angel for years through football and are proud to call him a friend both on and off the field.

Angel brings a strong football CV - representing Chile at U15, U16 & U17 national level, playing in the 2nd & 3rd divisions in Chile, and here in Christchurch with Coastal Spirit, University and Ferrymead Bays First Team. With a recent injury and a baby on the way, this is an exciting new chapter and a great opportunity for both Angel and our boys.

Tonight’s session was sharp, intense, and full of energy. Angel brings that South American style and flair, and it’s always love with our Latino football brothers, a community we’re proud to stand alongside
