Our first chapter has been written.
Saturday 6 June, JKA GardenCity held its first gasshuku and grading.
This was a special milestone for our dojo. For many of our students, this was their first grading and their first step on the long road towards black belt.
A grading is not only about receiving a new belt. It is about courage, discipline, respect, focus, and the willingness to keep improving even when nerves are present.
Well done to every student who stepped onto the floor and gave their best. You should be proud of what you achieved.
A big thank you to Sensei Karl and Sensei Lizelle for their guidance, support, and for helping make this milestone such a successful and memorable day for JKA GardenCity.
Thank you also to our students, parents, and families for supporting the day.
The belt changes.
The journey continues.
