We’re getting behind All Stars Sports Night ⭐ - the first-ever fundraising event for the Hawke's Bay Community Fitness Centre Trust, happening right here at Mitre 10 Park on 6 November.

The Community Fitness Centre Trust delivers programmes and services that touch the lives of so many people across Hawke’s Bay - from children and families through to older adults, rehab clients and athletes competing at the highest level.

All Stars Sports Night is an opportunity for our wider community to get behind that work and help ensure these programmes and services can continue.

We’re proud to support the Community Fitness Centre Trust and what they achieve here at Mitre 10 Park, and we’d love to see a big Hawke’s Bay crowd come together for what promises to be a fantastic night.

We’re looking for food trucks and mobile food vendors to join us for the Outkast Sports Touch Rugby season at Mitre 10 Park! 🏉

📅 13 October – 26 November
🗓️ Tuesdays & Thursdays | ⏰ 3:30pm–6:30pm

We want to offer our players, whānau and supporters a great range of quality food and drink - from fresh, healthy and nourishing options to hearty meals, great coffee, refreshments and a few well-earned treats.

🌱 Sustainability is important to us too. We’d love to hear from vendors who are conscious of packaging, waste reduction and their environmental impact. If you’ve got something great to bring to the Park, we want to hear from you!

🧡 What a result for New Zealand!

Congratulations to Eliza McCartney on winning Commonwealth Games gold and Imogen Ayres on taking home bronze in the women’s pole vault.

A huge congratulations as well to Olivia McTaggart who finished a superb fourth against an incredibly strong field. And how amazing to have three Kiwi wāhine toa competing at such a high level.

We’re especially proud that Eliza, Imogen and Olivia have all supported Mitre 10 Park’s Adopt a Metre campaign, helping create a lasting legacy for athletics in Hawke’s Bay and helping fund the resurfacing of our beloved athletics track. And where is Eliza’s favourite place to jump? Mitre 10 Park!

🏃‍♀️ One Last Lap... Then It's Time for a New Chapter. 🏃‍♂️
From next week, work begins on one of the biggest milestones in the history of the William Nelson Athletics Precinct – the complete refurbishment of our athletics track.
Over the coming months you'll see:
✅ A brand-new Rekortan rubberised and all weather competition surface
✅ New pole vault facilities
✅ New line marking
✅ New SmartTrack technology – the first of its kind on an athletics track in New Zealand
✅ A World Athletics Class II certified facility ready to inspire the next generation of athletes.
What this means for users:
• The first stage of works will begin with the pole vault extension.
• As construction progresses, access to the track will become increasingly restricted.
• From mid August, the track should be considered completely closed while preparation and resurfacing works are completed. At times heavy machinery will be involved.
• We expect to reopen in early November, with World Athletics certification to follow.
We know the closure will be inconvenient, and we sincerely thank our athletes, clubs, schools and community for your patience while we invest in the future of athletics in Hawke's Bay.

This project simply wouldn't be possible without the incredible support of Craig Hickson, Kevin & Penny Atkinson, and many other funding partners, donors, and everyone who has chosen to Adopt a Metre. Every contribution has helped make a lasting mark on this facility.

We'll keep you updated as the project progresses and can't wait to welcome you back onto a world-class track later this year.

🥇 Commonwealth Games Gold for Zoe Hobbs! 🇳🇿

Before she stood on top of the Commonwealth Games podium, Zoe Hobbs chose to support the future of athletics in Hawke's Bay by adopting Metre 60 through our adopt a metre campaign.

Today, we're incredibly proud to celebrate her gold medal, and even prouder that she's part of our Adopt a Metre journey.

Champions like Zoe inspire the next generation of athletes. By adopting Metre 60, she's helped create a lasting legacy that will support future athletes chasing their own dreams right here at Mitre 10 Park.

Today the Commonwealth Games began, and we couldn't be prouder to see so many incredible athletes taking to the world stage.

For us here at Mitre 10 Park, it's a reminder that world-class performances don't start in the spotlight. They start on local tracks, with early mornings, countless training sessions, supportive families, dedicated coaches, and communities that believe in their athletes.

We're especially proud that several athletes competing in Glasgow have Hawke's Bay connections or have supported our athletics track resurfacing project by adopting a metre. Their belief in this project is helping ensure the next generation has a world-class surface to chase their own Commonwealth and Olympic dreams.

As our track starts its transformation in August, we're building more than a new surface. We're investing in the future of athletics in Hawke's Bay.
