Turning young horses into athletes and allrounders, and dreams into reality. Hard work is my foundation, giving up isn’t in my nature 👊

Life recently in little moments….

Still chipping away at life, one job at a time

Farm work, the start of docking, keeping the horses and dogs happy, warm and dry through these cold winter days.

Counting down the days until spring rolls around and we can finally thaw out! ☀️

The good life isn’t always easy, but it’s worth working for 💪🏽

This lovely mare is still looking for a new postcode! Info below!

First Season Hunter / General all rounder

10yo Station-Bred Mare
Approx. 15.2hh | EMH

Wanita is a genuine all-round mare with a huge heart and plenty to offer. She’s currently completed her first season hunting and has also recently started jumping, taking everything in her stride since beginning of March.

She’s been ridden both at the front and back of the hunt field and is a bold, willing jumper that will take you confidently to a fence. She has jumped full wire, rickers, and a variety of hunt obstacles without hesitation. She can get excited on the hunt field and may put in a jig-jog when keen to get going, so she would be best suited to a rider with some experience rather than a complete novice.

Wanita is the type that will go all day when asked, yet can also be left in the paddock for a period and hopped straight back on without fuss.

Good to:
✔ First time clipping – stood perfectly
✔ Good around dogs
✔ Stay behind tape
✔ Load on truck and float
✔ Ride alone or with others
✔ Good to Shoe

When riding in a group, if others run off she can become a little excited, but settles once reminded to walk.

Wanita has all the makings of a fantastic hunting horse if someone continues with her. She hasn’t done a lot of showjumping or flatwork to date, but with further education and mileage, her potential is exciting.

This week’s vlog has a bit of everything working, giving the hunting comp and pig carry a crack, then back home getting stuck into the usual jobs.

There’s always something to be done around here 🤠

Don’t normally do a post like this , but I’m gonna be real about this one….

There’s something people don’t always realise about gossip, it doesn’t just stay as words. It has a way of getting into someone’s head, making them second-guess themselves, question who they are, and even making them feel physically sick.

Hearing that people are talking badly about me, especially about how I treat my animals, has been incredibly hurtful. Anyone who truly knows me knows how much I care for my horses and dogs. They aren’t just animals to me, they’re my responsibility, and my work mates. I put my heart into giving them the best care I can every single day.

It’s hard not to let rumours and criticism get to you, even when you know they aren’t true. You start questioning yourself, wondering if you’re doing enough, or if people will believe things that simply aren’t true. That’s a heavy feeling to carry.

Before judging someone or spreading stories, remember that there’s a real person on the other end of those words. Kindness costs nothing, but gossip can do far more damage than people ever realise.

I’m not sharing this for sympathy. I’m sharing it because words matter, and I hope people think twice before tearing someone down based on assumptions or hearsay.

Time to hang up the red jacket

While I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my season as Huntsman, I’ve decided it’s time to see where the next adventure takes me.

It’s been an absolute blast, full of challenges, lessons, memories, and experiences that I’ll always be grateful for. A sense of hard work and independence I hadn’t come across before, but I always made sure to put in the hours and keep working hard for the results.

Sometimes in life you have to give things a go, throw yourself in the deep end, and make sure you give it 100%. That’s exactly what I’ve done, and I wouldn’t change a thing.

Now it’s time to see what the next adventure holds and where the next chapter takes me. Life has a funny way of opening new doors when one closes, and there’s always something else waiting around the corner.

Here’s to the next journey 🐎

No office, no traffic, just horses, cattle, bush country, and plenty of miles. Keeping busy, learning every day, and making the most of an opportunity of a lifetime 🤠🐴
