Introducing 'The Nui Boy' Marcel 'Bruno' Brunner. Sport can be fickle. You dedicate yourself, time, sometimes years, or even decades, effort, money.. blood, sweat and tears, you're committed to a collective cause, a club, a badge, a colour, your mates, and for a while, you're revered, loved. Then you get old, and love becomes a one way street. Its happened to us all, and it stings when does happen. But the love never leaves you. For Bruno, that love is Wainuiomata Football Club, he bleeds black and green and likely thought he'd spend his entire career at Richard Prowse Park. However, the collapse of his beloved Undertakers masters team (and some other stuff) meant he had to look elsewhere, and thankfully for him, the mighty Antiques Roadshow came knocking. Now, this one club man is about to suit up for his 3rd club, Inter Hutt Valley FC. During his pomp, Bruno was an imposing goal keeper for Wainui 1st team, playing alongside other nui like legends Steven Quirke, Mark Manzone, the Cutter brother and Maunganui Kohika. Some even say say, that Bruno was so good, he was the second best athlete... in his family.... behind his sister. Unfortunately, he's old now, in fact, he's the oldest player at Inter, he can't really play in goal anymore coz his hand/ eye coordination has gone to s**t, so he plays out on the pitch.... even though his foot/eye coordination has gone to s**t!
All that aside, he's a great lad, loves a chat almost as much as he loves a drink, we at the Roadshow love him, and so to do his Inter brothers... and if the pub has run out of bourbon, it's OK coz Bruno probably brought his own.

Introducing 'the Skipper' Steve Toms.
So far at Inter Hutt Valley FC we've established an organizing committee, a group of men, all with a particular set of skills to get this venture off the ground.
We've got an intelligent, ambitious young coach, with a history of winning.
Now, we have a leader. The man with two first names... Like Ricky Bobby and he's ready to 'shake and bake'! A humble man hailing from the mother land.. Now that's rare, Steve was voted as one or the two of three best players that Inter have. A skillful, rangy center half/back, Steve reads the game extremely well and has the ability to close down opposition attacks before they happen, and loves to bomb forward when he sees an attacking opportunity. One of those rare players, who you not only love to play along side, but also enjoy playing against, because he's really good and just a great guy. Steve however, isn't Skipper just because he's an excellent player. He's leads by example, doesn't point fingers when things go wrong and doesn't take the credit when things go well. And although he's super competitive, he plays with a smile on his face which at our age, is something we all should do...i have resting bitch face.. So i can't... Plus I'm a c**t!
At the peak of his powers, Steve was playing first team in the cap prem division. We all know though, if he were at a bigger club, he would've played at a much higher level... That's not knocking cap prem, that's saying this guy was better than that. Tomsy is currently recovering from a fairly serious injury... Will he be fit in time to lead Inter to glory? Time will tell

Introducing 'the Gaffer' Rupert Kemeys.
Every now and then, if you're lucky, you come across, or meet, or get to know, or even become friends with, somebody driven and passionate to the point where success seems to follow them around. Well, what about this guy...A major coup for Inter Hutt Valley, our Gaffer, Rupert Kemeys... The man with the Midas touch.
For the few who don't know this self proclaimed 'public figure' ... Let me tell ya.. Rupert, or Rupe as he's known, is a prominent local businessman, running a very successful real estate company 'Ray white Kemeys brothers' alongside his bro Elliot. Those in football circles, likely know Rupe as the young local super coach who seems to win everywhere goes, guiding the Wainui club back to Central League before going on to steer Olympic AFC to national league honors... Now though, he's taken on possibly the greatest challenge of his career... Inter, a team laden with flab more so than gold, a bunch of well past their best has beens, mixed in with a few never weres.
Has Rupe got the stuff to take this rabble to summit? Or, is this a step too far, even for this maestro?... For those who know the story of King Midas, his gift actually became a curse, and he begged to the gods for it to be reversed. Recent history suggests we're bound for glory... Greek mythology however, tells a different story... Which will it be?

Introducing 'the story teller'
If a bear s**ts in the woods, and nobody sees it, did it even happen? Well, without people like Jason Stoupe aka Ace, we'd probably never know.
Ace or Gr***de, is the brainchild behind the mighty Antiques Roadshow masters 2 football team, an absolute juggernaut that's hard to stop... Probably because of fatness... It's physics..
Anyway, Ace is also the man behind the legendary Antiques match reports, a mythical place where truth and hyperbole collide to turn the boring and mundane into something utterly spectacular! If you watched an antiques game, then read the match report, you'd understand.
So, Ace now has the near impossible task of writing this new team..Inter Hutt Valley into football lore.. Which probably means he'll be making it all up.
As a player, Ace was skillful, ball playing fullback alongside his brother Donny Stoupe in the Naenae 1st team. He ran like he hated grass, and kicked the ball like he caught it fu***ng his wife(a little Ted Lasso reference) unfortunately, Ace spent a lot time suspended as he got sent off...a lot. Thankfully, now he's a geezer and too tired to get up off the subs bench.. He's mellowed,
But don't make him angry... You wouldn't like him when he's angry

Introducing 'the money man'
Anthony 'death by a thousand' Cutts
Every team needs that guy, you know who's happy to do those jobs that nobody else really wants to do. Anthony Cutts is that guy for Inter Hutt valley. Before you ask, no, he's not the team masseuse.. Although I do believe he's already offered his services to some of the wags. No, Cutts is the team money man, tasked with collecting team funds, paying the bills and strong arming those chumps who may be getting behind on payments.
A born and bred Wainui man, Cutts started his career of averageness at Arakura, later joining the Nui, before becoming old and crap and playing for the infamous and now defunct 'undertakers'...RIP chumps.. His career hitting it's peak only now, with the mighty M3 champions Antiques Roadshow throwing him a lifeline. A self confessed ladies man, in his bio, he claims to be single and married.. Not quite sure how that works, but I'm still not sure how this Turkey made the team lol.. Anyway, he's got all the cash so...

Introducing Donny Stoupe
The 'Connector'
Known as 'the factor' to his former Naenae 1st team brothers, but most others likely know him as 'Stoupee',but you don't have to know him well, to know he has the gift of the gab. In his current role as a sales manager, he connects people who need things, with people who have things and he knows lots of people, from all different circles. Who better to put the call out to than Donny? He, like Mike also has an extensive logistics background and is very organized. For Inter he's in charge of bringing in sponsors and organizing the making of team gear, kit, casual wear, suitcases etc.. So we know there won't be any spelling mistakes or wrong sized shorts.. All xl at least.
As a player, Donny was part of the golden generation of young footballers coming through Petone FC - Official in late 80s and early 90s, playing along side the likes of James Banntyne, Besim Balicevac, Chris Morris, Andrew Pickering, Ben Lindstrom and others, most of whom would go on to have very good careers in the central league or higher. Unfortunately, by his early 20s, he'd flamed out, having had too much football and not enough beer and woman.A few years later he came out of retirement to lead Naenae 1st team to promotion. These days as an OG of the mighty Antiques Roadshow, he does less showing us how good he is, and more telling us how good he was.. It's like listening to Bruce Springsteens 'glory days' on loop!
Let's hope he does more walking the walk and less talking the talk for Inter Hutt Valley FC

Introducing Mike Rennie
'The Maven'
When Azza came up with his hairbrained idea, thats all it was, an idea. In fact, you could say, he had no idea. So, who better to put the call out to than Mike the Maven. Now, for the uneducated, the word maven comes from the Yiddish meyvn, meaning, one who understands. You see, Mike has done all this before. He's been to the Pan Pacific Masters Games with another team, and his skills as a logistics specialist means organizing flights, accommodating, overall costs and getting to and from the venue is easy peasy! Now, all these organizational skills aren't the only reason Mike's involved, he's a good rooster and in his day, he was a 70kg menace for opposition players in the cap prem division for Upper Hutt City Football. Time however, has caught up to Mike and he's using his diminishing skills and increasing weight plying his trade in the back line for the mighty Antiques Roadshow.. As a die hard Tottenham Hotspur fan, he's used to painful experiences and in recent seasons, neither Spurs or the Antiques have done much winning, in fact if winning was air, Mike would've suffocated long ago. He's hoping all that changes with Inter Hutt Valley.

Introducing the team behind the team.
Aaron "Azza" Russell
'The Idea's Man'
Inter Hutt Valley is the brainchild of Azza, the current Gaffer of the world famous and legendary Upper Hutt Antiques Roadshow Masters football team. In his day Azza was lean hunk of yum in the middle of the park for Naenae 1st team, he invented the 'goose' a move so ridiculous and hilarious, you couldn't tell if it was nonsensical or genius. Perhaps a bit of both.
While his job as a CEO of a local rubbish collection business is essential and necessary as the lockdowns proved, it also gives him time to ponder and come up all new ways to take over the world , and empty the wallets of his closest friends. If running a business, having a young family and running an adult day care center called the Antiques wasn't enough, he's decided inventing a new club, with a new name, kit, players from all over the place, and then entering that team into the Pan Pacific Masters Games in the Gold Coast 2026 was a good idea. An idea is nothing without a plan, so Azza called on a few friends to help make this dream a reality.
