Southern Braves United Softball Club

The Southern Brave team's exceptional co-hosting of the NZ United Tournament showcased the profound impact of collaboration, commitment, and a shared vision. The unwavering efforts of Bobby jo in managing the bar, Tia Martin and her team's outstanding work at the tuck shop, and the behind-the-scenes support were all instrumental in making the event a resounding success. A heartfelt thank you is owed to the three teams who took turns running the BBQ, and to Murphy Meafua and his wife Nina for their remarkable kindness and generosity. We are also deeply grateful to Mike Tauiliili for lending us his ef-pos machine for the weekend. Lastly, the pivotal role played by Rayza Raymon Heka and his crew in organizing and supplying the vehicle and equipment to set up and maintain the diamonds was truly inspiring, and a testament to the transformative power of collective effort. Congratulations to the three teams on their impressive achievements:

Wow what an amazing weekend of softball.

What a tight game 0-0 right up to the 6th inning FnOats otahuhu got a 2 run home run and score 1 more run in the 7th inning made it 3-0 southern Blaze last bat BB walk a safe drive down 3rd base score a run made it 3-1an 1on bag, safe drop bunt runner on 1and 2 safe hit out between 8 an 9 score two more runs, batter was the winning run but got tagged out going home.
D3 Tamahawk
Lost to a OM D2 team
Now that's a great effort in its self to score a 10-7 lost.
D3 Whaeaz
Lost to OM Hustlers 14-6.
Whaeaz made too much Errors and OM capitalized
on it which resulted in the Score, time to reset and focus on next week.

Hi guys just an update on last weekend's game's the Whaeaz played magpies came away with a 14 all draw great result overall.
Southern Blaze played Otahuhu Goat came away with a lost 12 - 1
Tomahawk lost to Glenora 14 - 1.

This weekend's game's
Southern Blaze played otahuhu F n Oats came away with nailbitting 7 -6 well deserved win.

Whaeaz played Otahuhu Cowgirlies.
Came away with a 20 -1 amazing win, the lady's played a great defensive game. And showed some batting skills.

Tomahawk played Marist came away
With a lost 4 - 14 we're not worried we're playing D2 teams in grading round overall it's a great result for the team and we're enjoying the game and having fun at same time.

Southern Braves United whanau, we are having our club day on Saturday 29th November 2025.
Our men’s teams have home games:
1.30pm
Divi 1 - Blaze vs Papatoetoe Mongoose
3.30pm
Divi 3 - Tomahawks vs Waitākere Grizzlies
Our ladies play away at 1.30pm vs Marist.

Prize-giving and BBQ will start at 5.30pm.

We will be holding a short SGM (Special General Meeting) as well to update our members on:
- Club constitution
- Committee updates
- Upcoming club events/dates
