🏊‍♂️ 2026 Zespri AIMS Games – Swimming 🏊‍♀️

A fantastic week for our Roskill swimmers Summer, Justin Li, Justin Jia, Alvin and Chloe at the AIMS Games in Tauranga.

There was some strong racing, great progress and plenty of valuable experience gained across the competition. Congratulations to the team with 22/28 PBs and Justin Jia on finishing 6th in the 200m IM and 10th in the 50m butterfly.

Remuera A also finished 5th in the mixed medley relay and 7th in the mixed freestyle relay.

A huge thank you to the swimmers, families, coaches, managers and officials who helped make the week possible. Everyone at Roskill is extremely proud of you all! 🔴⚫⚪

🌏 WORLD JUNIOR OPEN WATER CHAMPIONSHIPS – FINAL UPDATE 🇳🇿

Ethan Stocks has wrapped up his first World Junior campaign in Santa Fe, Argentina, with the 3km Knockout Sprint and Mixed Open 4x1500m Relay.

In the knockout event, Ethan finished 20th in his heat in 15:50.6. He didn’t progress to the semifinal, but gained more valuable experience in the fast, physical and tactical style of international open-water racing.

Ethan then joined Jack Barton, Olivia Emmett and Olivia Bates in the New Zealand Open relay. Ethan produced a strong 16:04.6 third leg, moving the team four places from 13th to ninth at the final changeover. New Zealand ultimately finished 13th in 1:06:23.3.

That brings an end to an incredible championship for Ethan, highlighted by a 10-minute-plus PB in the 10km, three races on the world stage and the honour of representing New Zealand.

The results are only part of what Ethan will take away from this experience. Racing against the world’s best junior open-water swimmers will provide invaluable lessons and motivation as he continues to develop.

🌏 WORLD JUNIOR OPEN WATER CHAMPIONSHIPS 🇳🇿

A fantastic swim from Ethan Stocks in the Men’s 10km in Santa Fe, Argentina!

Representing New Zealand on the world stage, Ethan finished 28th in 1:57:21.8, producing a huge 10-minute-plus personal best.

It was an incredible experience racing against the world’s best junior open-water swimmers and a great opportunity for Ethan to learn, compete and continue developing at the international level.

His championships aren’t over yet — Ethan will be back in the water for the exciting 3km Knockout Sprint on Sunday morning NZ time.

Congratulations, Ethan! We’re incredibly proud of you! 🖤❤️🤍

Our World Junior Open Water Swimming Championships team has made the journey to Argentina, with some of the team travelling from their US colleges to join the team there 🇳🇿🖤

The countdown is on to the championships, with racing kicking off on 3 September! 📅

🇳🇿 TOP 10 AT JUNIOR PAN PACS! 🇳🇿

A fantastic result for Roskill’s Rui Hou, finishing 9th in the Men’s 50m Butterfly A Final at the 2026 Junior Pan Pacific Championships!

After swimming 24.79 in the morning heats to earn his place in the championship final, Rui backed it up with a strong 24.86 against some of the world’s best junior swimmers.

🇳🇿 RUI INTO THE JUNIOR PAN PACS A FINAL! 🇳🇿

A fantastic start to the 2026 Junior Pan Pacific Championships for Roskill’s Rui Hou!

Rui raced the Men’s 50m Butterfly this morning, stopping the clock at 24.79 — 0.09 seconds faster than his entry time.

Rui advanced as the 10th eligible qualifier and is expected to race from lane 9 this afternoon!

🔥 Swimming Waikato Winter Short Course 2026 🔥

A big weekend of racing for Roskill Swimming Club at the Waikato Winter SC Meet!

Across the meet our swimmers produced:

🏊‍♂️ 47 completed swims
✅ 26 PBs
📈 55.3% PB rate
🎯 5 NZSC qualifying swims
⭐ 4 Level 2 qualifying swims

There were some great improvements, strong racing, and lots of learning across both our junior and senior swimmers. Well done to everyone who raced and represented Roskill with pride.
