🖤💛 Waharoa Champs Wrap – 131A & 131rv Family Weekend 💛🖤

Man… this one was special.
Not just racing — proper speedway family stuff ❤️
Sunday at Waharoa – New Zealand CTRA Championship
Both Breann AND Aidan on track made for a full-noise, emotional, proud-parent kind of day.
🔵 Aidan (A-Dox)131RV
Couldn’t be prouder watching young A-Dox.
Raced hard, clean, and respectful alongside SNZ based kids all day — exactly how we teach it.
Pre-race donut ✔️
Big smiles & sweatytop lip after every race
Laughing in the pits ✔️

Three races, heaps of learning, heaps of fun… and honestly that’s what it’s all about at this stage. The results will come — the attitude is already there. Absolute legend.

🖤 131A Breann
Breann went in with a calm, tactical mindset. Smart racing all day to make the final count.
• Heat 1 – 7th
• Heat 2 – WIN 🏁
That locked her into the A Final off Grid 6, behind her club mate 28A starting pole — pretty cool seeing the Aucklandcars up the front together.
Then… speedway doing speedway things 😅
A couple of tech gremlins meant we were welding the exhaust back onto a 30-year-old manifold in the pits, quick fix, send it, back out she goes. No drama, just grit.
Final race wasn’t easy — lost a few spots off the start — but she kept her head down, picked them off one by one, and battled all the way back to finish 4NZ for the CTRA title.
And best part?
👉 Car loaded straight on the trailer in one piece.
That’s a win in our books.
Weekends like this remind you why we do it — the racing, the kids, the laughs, the chaos in the pits, the memories. Couldn’t be prouder of both of them.
Thanks to everyone who supports these young drivers and makes it possible every week.
Onward and upward 💪

🖤💛 131A Weekend Update – Breann Hignett-Morgan 💛🖤

What a full-gas, three-day mission for Breann — the kind of weekend that builds drivers, not just results 💪
Friday 30th – Rotorua
thanks to her sponsor XLR8 Ashley Hazleman
Breann jumped into 28A Jaxon Hazelman’s car for club night to grab some quality seat time before MIP.
Smooth laps, tidy lines, and some solid confidence building — exactly what you want heading into a big weekend. Sometimes it’s not about trophies… it’s about time on the pedals and learning the feel of the track. ✔️

Saturday 31st– Auckland | 29 car field
Back home and straight into the deep end with a packed grid.
• Race 1: Grid 23 → 16th | Best lap 21.06
• Race 2: Grid 7 → 4th | Best lap 19.99 🔥
• Race 3: Grid 13 → 3rd 🥉 | Best lap 20.28

On a bumpy but fast track, Breann really stepped it up — smarter passing, better race craft, and adapting to conditions lap by lap. A couple of setup tweaks between races paid off big time, and best of all… car loaded straight onto the trailer in one piece 🙌
Quick stop home for showers… then straight back on the road…

Sunday 1st – Waharoa
Off to the NZ CTRA Champs to do it all again.
That’s dedication right there.
So proud of this kid — not just for the results, but the attitude. Every meeting she’s learning, growing, and racing with heart.

That’s what Ministocks is all about ❤️

🏁 3 Days. 2 Tracks. Countless Lessons. 🏁
What a way to start 2026 for Ministock 131A — a weekend that showed exactly why speedway is such a powerful teacher for our kids.

Day 1 – Waikaraka Park
The season kicked off at home with a bang. Strong racing, confidence building, and great momentum heading south. A solid foundation to launch a huge weekend.

Day 2 – Oceanview Speedway (5000 – Night 1)
A track that demanded full concentration. Step off line in Turns 1 & 2 and you’d lose 2–3 spots instantly. A race meeting full of highs and lows, but scraping into the 2nd Tier U14 group with 60+ juniors all fighting for positions was a massive achievement. Minimal damage and plenty learned.

Day 3 – Oceanview Speedway (5000 – Final Night)
Rain set the tone early and left us with a tight car most of the night. Still, some huge growth came from it, especially around entry and exit lines on a challenging surface.

The Top 26 Girls Challenge was a standout — starting grid 12, a great launch saw Breann push up to 6th place racing alongside some seriously fast 16-year-old girls before clipping the Turn 2 rut, hitting the wall, and snapping the right rear wheel studs. A tough ending, and a few tears, but that’s racing.

And that’s where the real lesson sits.
Speedway builds resilience — our young kids learning how to handle pressure, setbacks, disappointment, and to come back stronger, both on and off the track.

Now the car is washed, back in the shed, up on stands and ready for a week of maintenance before we do it all over again.

2 tracks. 3 days. 180 Ministocks.
Camping, laughs, heartbreak, growth, and memories made with our speedway family.
Proud of the effort — onwards and upwards 🏁💙

Huge thank you to all that helps to create memories..
