2026 blue tuna trip to Waihau Bay. Firstly, big thanks to Samuel Vincent Connolly for an epic trip down to Waihau Bay. On day one, we managed to get hooked up in the afternoon on the Lures and I landed my first bluefin after two years of trying in my own boat. Absolutely stoked, on day two we got into night jigging and were absolutely spoilt, finding huge schools of bait and hooking up straight away. Sammy got his fish after a second drop and not long after that, I managed to hook up as well on the spinning gear, which was a mean fight. Two fish landed that night, and we were heading in and home by nine. Day two was a struggle; we managed to find bait but just couldn’t get the bite. We were eating like kings and took home a couple of crayfish with a s**t tonne of tuna. I'll definitely be back into it next year.cheers Sam 🛥️obsidian is a weapon 🐟🐟🐟
