Found on the Linton course today, PGS glasses which appeared to be prescription specs of high value.
They have been handed in to the guards at the Linton Camp gate so check with them. They may have passed them on to the guard hut.

These were the two heavy lifters at the 9-holes mid-winter open tournament at Linton today, cradling their coveted meatpacks.
From a full field of 62, the winner with 24 points was Helen Parry from the Kapiti Golf Club near Paraparaumu.
Bob Martin, at left, from Palmerston North Golf Club, was the runnerup on countback. They are sure to be back for the next open, the summer one in late January.
The nine holes played today were in immaculate condition after hard work all week from greenkeeper Eugene Wilson and Roy Dobbin.

Our club captain of the past seasons, WO2 Murray Reid, cradles engraved glasses presented to him on the eve of his departure tomorrow to points west. He will be leaving Linton Camp and the golf club in search of another destiny after having rediscovered his passion for golf when posted to Linton.
Our next club captain will be Ben James who has an impressive sporting legacy in the army and is a local Linton lad.

Just part of the fauna which flourishes on the Linton Camp course. The big boy pheasant was snapped by club member Barry Jeffrey between the 14th and 15th holes today. Hopefully he stays safe from the predacious karearea raptors which also inhabit the camp.

All uniformed up at Linton were the club's patron, Lt Col Martin Dransfield at left and Major Carey Talauta who has been the club president since 2016, now serving for a record 11th year.
Both are active golfers

Many Linton golfers will remember the cheery gentleman of the club of more than a decade and a half ago, John Pene.
Our club send its condolences to the Pene family after his passing at the weekend. John was in his 90s.
His funeral will be held at 11am on Monday at Lychway Funeral Directors, 5 Roy St, Palmerston North.
He was a popular golfer among the vets at Linton, playing there when he was a foreman at the Longburn freezing works. He stopped his golf when walking 18 holes became too much for him. Then he went to the Palmerston North Bowling Club. Softball had been his other sport - he was a life member of the Huia Sports Club.

Big-hitting Linton golfer Sione Latu won the club's official Anzac Day tournament on Monday. On a 10 handicap, He shot a 4-over-par 76 for 41 points.
He had also won the Elliott VC Memorial Trophy two years ago, again when he shot 76.
The runnerup was Major Collette Martin on 39 points.
