We didn’t just show up to play — we showed up to represent something bigger than ourselves. Our people, our whānau, our whakapapa, and our Rōpū.

Standing together on our own whenua in South Auckland, wearing our colours with pride and carrying our kaupapa with mana.

Every man who pulled on that jersey represented more than a team — he represented a community.
Proud of who we are, proud of where we come from, and proud to stand together.

What an awesome day for our tamariki!

A huge ngā mihi nui to everyone who came together to make this day happen. With 12 teams from U10 to U12, it was awesome to see so many tamariki out there playing in the rain, having fun, making new friends and representing their ropu and whānau.

A massive thank you to all the coaches, managers, referees, volunteers, whānau, supporters, who put in the mahi behind the scenes and on the day. These days don’t happen without everyone playing their part 🫳

Most importantly, we are grateful to be able to give our tamariki the opportunity to come together, enjoy their rugby league, celebrate being Māori and be part of something bigger than themselves.

From all of us at SA-Māori, thank you for the manaakitanga, the support and the awesome atmosphere.
