What an awesome day for our tamariki!

A huge ngā mihi nui to everyone who came together to make this day happen. With 12 teams from U10 to U12, it was awesome to see so many tamariki out there playing in the rain, having fun, making new friends and representing their ropu and whānau.

A massive thank you to all the coaches, managers, referees, volunteers, whānau, supporters, who put in the mahi behind the scenes and on the day. These days don’t happen without everyone playing their part 🫳

Most importantly, we are grateful to be able to give our tamariki the opportunity to come together, enjoy their rugby league, celebrate being Māori and be part of something bigger than themselves.

From all of us at SA-Māori, thank you for the manaakitanga, the support and the awesome atmosphere.

Here's a few snips from the day!

Until next time whānau!

🟢⚫️ Jersey Presentation – U13 & U14 Tama

What a special evening celebrating our U13 and U14 Tama as they were proudly presented with their playing strips for our first campaign together.

This year’s strip includes a special Matariki design, recognising that our tournament is played over Matariki weekend. The stars are a reminder of where we’ve come from, those who have guided us, and the journey that lies ahead as a team. As we celebrate Matariki, we also celebrate connection, reflection, new beginnings, and the strength we find in standing together as one.

We couldn’t be prouder of our Tama and the hard mahi they have put into this campaign. Their commitment, determination, and growth have been incredible to watch, and we know they will wear these jerseys with pride and honour.

A huge ngā mihi nui rawa atu to Lara for generously providing the venue to host our jersey presentation. Your support and manaakitanga are truly appreciated.

On behalf of the club, we also want to extend our sincere thanks to our managers, coaches, and trainers. Your dedication, time, and countless hours of mahi behind the scenes make opportunities like this possible. Thank you for everything you do for our tamariki and their whānau.

Now the countdown begins… Tournament time is almost here! We can’t wait to see our Tama represent their whānau, our club, and themselves with pride.

Play with heart. Play for each other. Wear the stars with pride, remembering that every one of you is part of something bigger than yourselves.

Kia kaha. Kia māia. Kia manawanui. Matariki, the bringer of hope and new beginnings.

Bring it home, boys! 🟢⚫️🏉✨

🔥 PLAYER SPOTLIGHT – KALEO KIMI-PRITCHARD 🔥

Proudly representing South Auckland Māori Rugby League for the second consecutive year, Kaleo continues to lead by example both on and off the field.

A product of the Ōtāhuhu Blue Leopards, Kaleo has built a reputation as a fearless defender, strong leader, and dedicated teammate. Captain of his club side for the past three seasons, his commitment and work ethic helped guide his team to the 2025 U13 C Section Championship.

Known for his toughness, resilience, and team-first attitude, Kaleo inspires those around him with his leadership and determination. As he continues to grow his representative career, he proudly represents his club, whānau, and community every time he takes the field.

We're proud to have Kaleo wearing the green and black as we build towards the 2026 Tama Tournament. 💚🖤

🔥 PLAYER HIGHLIGHT 🔥

Meet Jermaine King, who is proudly representing South Auckland Māori Rugby League for the second consecutive year.

Jermaine is a strong defensive player with an explosive attacking game. Coming from a rugby union background, he has made a seamless transition to league and has excelled in his role at centre. His work ethic, determination, and willingness to learn have seen him continue to grow as a player each season.

Jermaine is definitely one to watch as he continues to develop his game and reach his potential. Supporting and developing our rangatahi both on and off the field remains a key focus of our programme, and Jermaine is a great example of that journey.

Keep an eye on our page as we continue to showcase the talented players representing South Auckland Māori Rugby League in the lead-up to the upcoming Tama Tournament.
