A balanced diet is what humans are designed to eat. All the food within it was here thousands of years ago. Whole foods, real food. People are trying to discover what diet works and its been here all along.
What is even better, you get to eat more to lose fat. More food doesn’t mean more calories. Nutrient dense food is often low in calories. So you can ‘diet’ without being hungry.

You could try to hit your nutrition targets perfectly every day
and eliminate any food that's not a protein, fruit, vegetable,
