For more than 30 years, Metro Judo Hamilton has been a home for our community—helping children, young people and adults develop discipline, confidence, resilience, respect and the skills to become better, more capable members of society. Judo is far more than a sport; strong, accessible clubs provide safe spaces where people connect, learn, grow and support one another. Like many not-for-profit organisations, we face the very real risk of losing access to a suitable, permanent facility—and without a secure home, the future of our club and the community it serves is uncertain. Our Tauranga Judo Club whānau is coming together to support one of our own, our much-loved coach, Kevin Kavanagh 🥋🤍

Kevin has recently been diagnosed with cancer and is now facing the road ahead with treatment. It’s a difficult time for Kevin and his family, and we want them to know they don’t have to walk it alone.

He has given so much of his time, knowledge, encouragement and support to our club, both on and off the mat. Now, it’s our turn to be there for him.
