This tournament is one of the largest and most prestigious futsal events in Oceania, bringing together teams from Australia, New Zealand and across the international futsal community. GINGA FUTSAL ACADEMY 💚

A huge welcome to Ginga Futsal Academy, who are making their first appearance at the Buzz Electrics Youth Futsal Tournament in 2025.

Despite being newcomers to our tournament, Mario Jnr and Mario Snr are bringing a wealth of knowledge with the U13 & U15 Boys and we expect to see great things from these squads over the three days.

NZSS Futsal Championship recap: Our coach Mario Jnr and players Evie Rodgers and Lucy Tawharu-Senf have just had a blasting 3 days of futsal down in Wellington at the New Zealand Secondary Schools Futsal Championship, getting 5th place in the country. Unfortunately being knocked out in the quarterfinals in a game where MMC were able to dominate, but it was all decided on an intense penalty shootout. Below are the performances of the team:

First game- MMC 1-0 Napier Girls
Second game- MMC 2-4 Western Heights
Third game- MMC 5-0 Onslow College
Fourth game- MMC 3-1 Otumoetai College
Fifth game- MMC 3-2 Hamilton Girls
Sixth game- MMC 1(4)-1(5) Rangiora College (Penalties)
Seventh game- MMC 1-0 Sacred Heart Hamilton
Eight game- MMC 1-0 Mount Albert Grammar

Congratulations to Mount Maunganui College for getting 5th place, with 6 wins, 1 loss, 1 draw, 17 goals scored, only 8 goals conceded, a total of 4 clean sheets, and being able to score in all 8 matches.

Dear Parents,

I hope this email finds you well! We’d like to share some important updates and reminders to ensure everything runs smoothly and your child gets the most out of their experience at Ginga Futsal Academy.

1. Training Schedule

Ginga will be back on Term 1 in 2025. We are planning to start our fist training on Feb 5th for Tauranga (Merivale) and Feb 7th for Papamoa (Golden Sands).

2. Uniform and Equipment

We are expecting to receive our training kit in early January. The training kit will be used for training and to play in the tournaments as well (if the tournament organizers request numbers on the shirts, we will supply the playing kit). All players should come to training and matches in their complete Ginga uniform, including proper futsal shoes.

3. Upcoming Events

Keep an eye out for our upcoming tournaments and social events. We’ll be sharing more details soon, but we encourage your involvement as these are wonderful opportunities to build community spirit and cheer on the players! We are taking teams to play in the local league (Waibop Futsal) and some tournaments around North Island:

Hawke's Bay Fustal Festival - Napier
Palmy Futsal Cup - Palmerston North
