Kiwis are a superfood food. the skin alone has more fiber, vitamin C and antioxidants than the inside, most people are throwing away the best part. the whole fruit gives you up to 6g of fiber, covers your daily vitamin C, supports gut health, boosts collagen and can even help you sleep better. 

Here’s what the science actually says:

•Fiber
The skin has significantly more fiber than the flesh alone- eating the whole thing can get you up to 6g of fiber per serving, which is great for gut health and digestion.

•Vitamin C
The skin contains even more vitamin C than the inside. 1-2 kiwis with skin can cover your full daily vitamin C needs- good for immunity, collagen production and glowing skin.

•Antioxidants
Most of the antioxidants are concentrated in and just under the skin, so peeling it means you’re literally throwing away the most nutrient-dense part.

•Gut bacteria
The fiber in the skin feeds good gut bacteria, which helps with bloating, digestion and overall gut health.

•Sleep
Studies suggest eating two kiwis before bed can help you fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer, though this applies to the whole fruit.

•Digestive enzymes
Kiwi contains actinidin, an enzyme that helps break down protein and eases bloating

The skin is fuzzy and takes getting used to. Golden kiwi is a good starting point because the skin is much smoother and milder than green kiwi. You can also blend it whole into a smoothie if the texture bothers you.
