📢MATCH REPORT📢

Y0/1 Axemen Stormborn

The Colts must’ve been playing hide and seek before kick-off because everyone knew a storm was rolling in! Once the opposition was finally spotted, a calm settled over Alex Moore Park on a pristine Johnsonville evening as the Stormborn lined up against a fresh-faced Newlands Colts side.

The Stormborn defensive line stood tall all game with rips flying in from all directions. Even better — the sideline stayed everyone’s friend this week, with huge improvement keeping the play in bounds and absolutely zero backwards running for “creative” tries!

All the hard mahi and laughs at training are starting to shine on game day, and this team is growing in confidence every week.

Stormborn Player of the Day went to Nikau, who was relentless with his running game, hunting down rips and having an absolute blast alongside his teammates. Colts POD went to Maia, the backbone of her side who led from the front all evening.

As the final whistle blew, the storm rolled out just as quickly as it arrived… straight towards a well-earned pile of lollies!

📢MATCH REPORT 📢

Y3 Axemen Bravehearts vs OBU Warriors

Overcast skies, no wind at Ian Galloway Park… honestly, that might be a first! The calm before the storm as the Axemen Bravehearts unleashed a massive team effort on an unsuspecting OBU Warriors side.

The Axemen were locked in on defence, ripping away turnover ball and charging up the field together. Offloads were flying left, right and centre, setting up some brilliant runaway tries. The Warriors threw everything at the defensive line, but the Bravehearts stood tall with big tackles, tough grit and plenty of muddy smiles by full time.

Player of the Day for the Bravehearts went to Alexei for lightning feet, fearless tackling and being the ultimate teammate — always backing up and ready with a high five. The Warriors Player of the Day went to Toby for his slick footwork and relentless effort on defence.

The halftime oranges disappeared quickly… but not nearly as fast as the well-earned lollies after the final whistle!

The Axemen Bravehearts have arrived and they mean business. GIVE ‘EM THE 🪓🪓🪓
