What a way to kick off the morning! 🌅

We had a 6:00am training session today, and honestly thought the kids might struggle to get out of bed… but we were proven wrong!

About 40 kids showed up ready to go, which was such an awesome turnout. 💪🏽

It was wicked seeing all the energy, enthusiasm, and effort from everyone.

We’re seriously proud of our tamariki and how much they keep putting in.

Big thanks to all the whānau who got the kids up and out the door that early — we really appreciate it.
Keep it up, kids! You’re all doing amazing. 💙💛

Congratulations to all selected to represent Whāngarei Rohe at the upcoming Aotearoa NZ Maori RL nationals..

We want to thank everyone for the last couple months it has been an awesome journey to get our Rohe to this point..

Our development squad will be updated and posted Wednesday and everyone will recieve an email on how to get your Whangarei Rohe training kit and all upcoming session dates for you to attend!

What an amazing day of footy! 🏉

First we had our u11s take it out on the field show casing their amazing skills then our u12s smashed it followed by the men's country vs city
What a great evening for some great Rugby league 💪💪

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and supported our tamariki today. The atmosphere was incredible, and it was awesome to see so many whānau backing our kids.

To all of the trialists who took part, you were absolutely amazing. Congratulations to those who were selected for the next stage.

Moving forward, an email will be sent out to all trialists, so please keep an eye on your inbox and make sure to check your junk/spam folder as well.

For those who were not selected this time, please remember that this is not the end of your journey. There will be opportunities to be part of our Development Academy, and we encourage all of our tamariki to keep turning up, keep learning, and keep growing their game. Your time will come.

A special thank you to Mahi Pai for once again keeping our tamariki entertained throughout the day, and to the amazing crew at Semenoff Stadium for your support and for providing such a fantastic venue for our event.

This week our trial teams will play against each other at Semenoff Stadium as curtain raiser to the WCDRL Men’s
City vs Country game

Following trial 2 the final squads will be chosen to represent Whangarei Rohe at the tamariki tournament in September!

Just under 100 tamariki turned up to our Whangārei Rohe Māori Rugby League trials, and we couldn't be more grateful. The energy, excitement, and talent on display made for an amazing evening.

A huge thank you to all the players and whānau who came along and supported the kaupapa. We are truly humbled by the response and enthusiasm shown by our community.

A special thank you to all of our volunteers who stepped in to help throughout the night. Events like this simply couldn't happen without your support and willingness to lend a hand.
