A WOMAN’s personal and her company’s bank accounts held with Bank South Pacific that were credited K1.7 million of PNG Sports Foundation funds have been frozen by the National Court.

Both are operated allegedly by the wife of a former sports minister (named) and the balances, at the time of the restraining order, had significantly declined to just over K300,000.

Court documents indicated that from the K1.7 million paid to one Kathleen Ruth James and her company, Karma Investment Limited, the balances in those accounts as at Sept 2, 2025 stand at K120,611.97 (BSP #0000318038) and K180,712.93 (BSP #0000244588) respectively.

One of the Divisional Officer and a current postgraduate student at Parul University-India, Moses Daniel SOLOMON is undertaking field research for his thesis titled “Decentralizing Sports Governance in Papua New Guinea. "A Model for Regional Sports Development and Community Engagement. ”
His work involves engaging with students, teachers, and community sports leaders to gather critical grassroots insights that will inform inclusive, locally-driven policy reforms in sports governance and development.

Today, the Division of Sports hosted a heartfelt farewell and welcome luncheon to mark a special moment of transition and appreciation.

We warmly welcomed Mrs. Leslie, our new Administrative Officer, to the team. At the same time, we bid farewell to Ms. Shirley Lung, whose dedication and service have made a lasting impact on our division.

We also acknowledged the contribution of Moses Daniel SOLOMON, who completed an 8-week internship with us and will soon depart for Parul University in India 🇮🇳 to continue his academic journey in Public Policy.

Thank you all for your service and commitment. We wish you success in your new chapters and look forward to the journey ahead with fresh energy and purpose! 💼✈️📚
