Junior Yambe: Rising Star in Papua New Guinea Rugby League Coaching.

Hailing from Teremanda, Wabag in Enga Province, Junior Yambe is making a name for himself as one of the youngest and most promising coaches in Papua New Guinea Rugby Football League.
His exceptional coaching skills, mentorship, and leadership have been instrumental in shaping the success of the Sanso Royals in the Port Moresby Rugby Football League (POMRFL).

Under his leadership, the Royals have achieved remarkable milestones:

2022: Royals won the POMRFL Cup in both U20s and A-Grade.

2023: Royals reached the semi-finals in both divisions but fell short of the grand final.

2024: Royals lost the U20s grand final, while the A-Grade team claimed the championship title.

Beyond POMRFL, the Royals also made their mark in the Club Championship:

In Port Moresby, they defeated Motu Kota in the grand final, earning a golden pass to Lae.

Representing the Southern Zone in Lae, they secured a victory over Team Hagen before reaching the grand final, where they finished as runners-up against the Lae team.

These accomplishments, including four grand final appearances with three championship wins, underscore Junior Yambe’s impact as a coach.

This year 2025 , he is contributing his expertise to KMHL Enga Mioks, assisting in their campaign in the Digicel ExxonMobil Cup-one of PNG’s premier rugby league competitions.
His influence extends beyond coaching, as several Royals players have earned pre-season opportunities with Enga Mioks, with some securing spots on the team for the 2024 season.

With a proven track record and a bright future ahead, Junior Yambe is undoubtedly a rising force in PNG rugby league coaching. His journey is just beginning, and his dedication to developing young talent continues to shape the future of the sport.
